Default Need help with sportsline.com and espn.com, computer help...

So on Saturdays whenever I go to either of these sights it totally slows my computer down...I don't know that much about computers, but how do I disable the cache's or whatever the heck they are called that slow me down...I like being on sportsline 'cause they give good updates, but it slows down streaming video and internet radio, in-games, etc.

    any advice would be apprecited...

Anything you have running in the back round (chat clients or anything in your system tray) need to be turned off. What do you is click on "RUN", then type "MSCONFIG", then click on your "START UP TAB", then disable certain things that you don't really need to see in your system tray when you fire up your computer.

That should help free up a good amount of space for you Pags.

The more RAM the better. How much is in your system?

RAM diffinetly helps, even if you have cable or DSL, it helps to have 1gig or better now, especially with as much content that streams on those sites. you could also go to system tools and do a disk clean-up.

pull up your process list and see what is absorbing large amounts of RAM

pags, not sure if it is a high priority for you, but a ram upgrade would solve your problems....I had an old compaq that had about the same amount of RAM as what you have and now my MAC has 1 gig...and it flies...

No problem Pags. Just how many errors did you happen to find anyways?

I do agree with everyone else though that suggested a upgrade in ram. Just buy an extra stick and you should be good to go.

You also need to clear out your cache and cookies every now and then. Can be found in Tools then Internet Options.

Sportsline has been really lame today. They must be a half hour behind in updates on the Florida game. Yahoo has been much more up to date.
