5dimes manager speaks roughly and threateningly
has anybody same experience?
I want simply tell, what said manager Tony to polite question.
My brief:
Dear customer service,
my account number......
I made yesterday the stake:
Accepted 9/1/2007 6:01 PM - EST
Line: 9/1/2007 6:00:01 PM - (EST)
I mean, this stake was accepted after the game start. So it would be void but it isn't.
Please, verify it.
Thank you in advance....
The reply was:
Dear Customer,
Your bet was made before the game actually began.
Therefore, this wager will have action and the
grade will stand. Don't waste my time with any
more petty claims like this one. Any further
non-sense such as this will result in you finding another place to wager.
Sincerely,
Tony
5Dimes Operations Manager
I didn't write anything bad, that was just a question.
And so roughly answer.....
of course, i'll take all my money away.

Regardless, something was unnecessarily up Tony's ass if that's really all you stated in the email.

You made the bet man. Its up to you to be aware of whether or not the game had started. You pulled the trigger and agreed to put money on the game whether the game had started or not.

The more interesting question is would they have voided the bet if his wager had won, being one minute after the game started?

I've put quite a few wagers in a minute after a game started at 5Dimes during basketball season... I won some and lost some... I never really asked about it...

did you not read his email? he never demanded for it to be refunded, he asked about the rules. regardless, a player should not have to put up with that...5dimes volume has taken a big hit, maybe T diddy is a little stressed

i understand what you are saying...but no one deserves to be treated like that. if he called in demanding for the wager to be reversed i could understand...he seemed pretty innocent, ignorant if anything ... give the guy a break.

I understand why people are all "WTF you wouldn't complain if you won", but that doesn't give ole Tony a green light to be an absolute asshole. Especially when the email itself wasn't demanding or disrespectful.

Remmy you are an idiot... Why don't you read the email?
"I mean, this stake was accepted after the game start. So it would be void but it isn't.
Please, verify it."
He is basically saying he wants his money back... Do you really think this guy would be sending emails if the bet won? Give me a break.

I dunno. Sportsbook managers must have to put up with a lot of weasels and airheads and snots. I wouldn't want the job.
We don't know if this sportwetten was in the habit of sending dopey questions like this every day.
Okay, there is no doubt the response here was inappropriate based on the information we have been given. Maybe the walls are starting to close in on Tony. Seems a little overly defensive.
Made me chuckle though.

If Tony is half as busy as I am at my job, then he probably doesn't have a whole lot of free time to deal with broken-english-speaking retards who try to weasel out of a losing bet a day after it lost, because they post it one minute after the scheduled start time.
My response would have been something to the effect of:
"I want the last 5 minutes of my life back you shameless weasel, which is how long it took me to wrap my head around the fukking pathetic request you tried to make. I'd be able to provide solid customer service to more people if I didn't have to deal with sh1t-for-brain scam artists like yourself."
*the author of this post has never placed a bet at 5dimes and doesn't know any of the involved parties, I am simply calling a spade a spade here.

fortunately, i send such e-mail only one time and the last 100%
Of course, i would like to receive money back, but that is not the problem. CS could say, sorry guy, you aren't right.
Or do you find this message is ok?

my advice to you is to stop posting on this topic in this forum, some guys are going to agree with you, some are going to disagree...either way it doesn't matter.
if you were happy at 5dimes, i suggest trying betjamaica.

He was taking a shot and got told to go Fvck himself. The bet got accepted so it stands.... One minute after 6 and he wants to void the losing wager? Hell they probably hadn't even done the anthem yet. Give me a break.

i think he edited the email. i don't really beleive a top rated sports book can be that rude. i asked plenty of stupid questions to the greek and pinnacle in the past, but they always gave me polite responses. even at sportsbook.com, they were pretty polite.
i think we're not hearing the whole story here...or 5dime is run by a prick.

Tony thinks he's god (his words, not mine). He's even come in here to apologize; sort of. Doesn't mean he's not honest. Just easily irritated with an overblown ego.

I don't know him, but I could see Tony being more honest than most people. At least he doesn't sugarcoat his words, without telling you what he really thinks. Is it good PR? Nope. But you won't have to worry about two-faced political statements or hidden motives.

It's not a regular clerk, but the owner as stated, so he can be rude.
I've talked to him, he's fair, but also the top man, so he can do what he wants.
5D is one of only about 5 books I'd trust.

There should be a "Best of Tony" thread on here dedicated to "God".
Here's a good thread to start off with.
My horror with 5dimes.com !!!
Perhaps Tony should sponsor an SBR award every year for the most piss-poor, rude and generally incompetent CS department in the offshore industry.
