    Default Matchbook platinum accounts

Anyone else been offered a platinum account, most of the advantages are frills, but priority queing to get prices matched is A1 IMO, basically you get automatically placed behind the last platinum account holder to get matched, but your placed ontop of the normal accounts.

Hey Jamie are there any other differences or is that the only one..? I wonder if you can request a Platinum account or if they have to offer it to you...

The only other bonus is a 0.05% commission deduction from the standard per level attained by turnover.

I think the platinum account is based on monthly turnover mate, you can request I guess, but if you dont meet the platinum member turnover levels then you may be disappointed

OK cool thanks... Take an educated guess at what you think might be needed (turnover monthly)..?

Jamie thanks for posting about the existence of the Platinum Account...it's good to hear that MB is thinking about incentivizing the activity of their better customers.

Could you post the rate per volume schedule they sent you?

Am I the only one who thinks priority filling is a bad idea?

  7. #7

    Default

No actually you're not but as I think about it I think about two points.. a.. if you kick any books as* bad enough you'll get profiled and b. matchbook "supposedly" is not at risk so they would have no reason to profile... UNLESS they share info. which is why I don't like book to book...

Wheell...I can certainly see it would suck for the small customer to have someone else's offer placed ahead of his in line...but it sounds like as far as taking numbers it's still a first-come-first-served system.

In practice I don't think it will be a big deal because the smaller customer just wants to come in and bet at the reduced juice and rarely is going to want to post an offer anyway.

Matchbook assured us today that "Matchbook does not give priority fills to so-called "platinum" account holders. The order of matching is strictly first-come, first-serve, so if you are the first user to post an offer for +108, then no one can jump in line and get filled at +108 before you do."

Jamie...did they use the words "priority queing" in the offer you got? If so, I'm puzzled about what that could mean.

Bill...did they explain to you the benefits of a platinum account? If you could post the fee discounts based on volume amounts that would be great.

Defiantly quoted priority queing to me, my account manager explained it in detail, but it did involve me seeding also, most exchanges operate this policy , but its not something people talk about I guess because it is not something thats freely available, I'm not surprised they denied it, but I do have a very large monthly turnover there.

TBF I am more interested on review in the % commission offer they have made as I'm mainly a scalper.

Thanks for getting that info, Bill. That is good news. I hope they mean it and will leave a good thing be.

I disagree, Bookie. Have you noticed how many offers of 20, 50, 100 there are at any given time. My being put behind a 5k bet hurts me more than him being behind my $70 bet hurts him. Some of us look at sports betting as a serious challenge. We are not looking to earn our living this way, but the fun is in the effort and the satisfaction comes from winning. We try to win and part of that is getting the best odds possible. We are somewhere between the big guns and the casual tv-game bettor. And for the TV guy, yes, your comment above probably applies.

Question for anyone: I've seen people quote 2 different message in the same reply. I couldn't do it ( had to copy/paste the 2nd one). What should I know in order to do it? thanks

Matchbook mgt. says they have never heard the terms "platinum account," "account manager" or "priority queueing." What was the name of the person you spoke to?

lol, so they dont have "account managers" they are tugging your ding dong Bill.

This deal is obviously not something they wish to advertise, but I turned over just 125K in August, which is nothing as most were scalps and its just over 4k a day, however, the deal was related to seeding Euro soccer games against betfair prices with a commission deduction to make it feasible , so it may just be an offer for Europeans.

MB doesnt have platinum accounts. They dont have gold, silver, or bronze accounts either.

Someone is either putting the guy on, or he is putting us on.

I just spoke to MB, as did billdozer.

    This is a chupacabra story.

Thats great, but Im pretty sure the managing director (ie: the guy who runs matchbook) would know about it, no matter where they are from.

He told me that he has never heard the term "platinum accounts" or the benefits listed.

And if 125K monthly makes you platinum, Im pretty sure I know at least 5 people by myself that are super duper triple titanium.

Once again, not saying that you guys are making this up, just saying it is not coming from Matchbook.

Jamie UK is making it up. His only purpose here is to try and rile people up. I'd be surprised if actually has an account there.

Tend to agree with you Dorito...found this post from ten days ago in which Jamie was on this "platinum account" kick. In that thread he suggested that if you "upgraded" to such an account you could tell if an offer had been matched or withdraw. Nobody bit. So here he floats it again, this time he seems to be pretending that he's just heard of it and is seeking information.

never have heard of platinum accounts before...if Vanzack doesn't have one and has never heard of them (along with Bill stating they don't exist), you can pretty much bank on this being the correct information...

Actually just confirmed none US only. They will be leaving the US market at end of August (or maybe early Sept) and want to encourage a few extra punters from outside US.

As long as it doesnt affect liquidity!

    I rest my case.

I hope your "platinum account" goes well with your purple and green sky in fantasyland.

Are you the mayor or fantasyland, or is that JaimeUK?

Just had things clarified, they are looking to legitimise their business model, hence lots of bonus's etc etc etc for non-Americans , I expect they will go the way of Pinnacle soon enough.
