    Default How much do you think they spent trying to legalize offshore gaming?

    I was reading something today that said that the offshore industry have contributed 1.3 million to Barney" Frank so far already. After reading that I got to wondering just how much money do you think the offshore industry actually spent on lobbying to legalize offshore gaming over the course of time?

    There is the problem right there, 1.3 million isnt going to get anywhere in the realm of politicians.

    Dan, I often ask myself why they haven't poured more money into this. I mean, they really didn't have representation until they bought Barney. Seems like they should have bought some lobbyists sooner.

    They really didn't need too because there really was nothing legally stopping it in the first place. However, I will agree that they should have at least looked at it from more of an insurance policy just in case the time came, which it did as we all can see now.

    I have to wonder why they would spend a dime trying to help pass the Frank bill.

    If it becomes legal, it just won't be for offshore. It will be for U.S. based companies as well,

    And where would most U.S. poker players and sports bettors rather post up with: some place in Panama, Jamaica or Costa Rica, or with the Hilton, Caesars, Boyd Group, etc in Las Vegas? Names they know and love.

    The Vegas mega-casinos have already game-planned their entry into national online betting. If and when . . .
