I got to single A baseball, undrafted but was considered a pro for a short time. I got kicked off the team for something that I was framed for.

I played for the Evansville Otters for one season in the independant Frontier League. Basically the equivilent to playing single A/Rookie ball. They cut my ass an I then had to get a real job. Not that you even make money playing independant ball.

When I was in high school I went to a Wausau Mets game in Wisconsin and they were a single A Midwest League team affiliated with the Mets.On the team was a Mets prospect that I believe was an outfielder-first baseman power hitter named Ed Cipot from Jersey. The guy was sort of a hell raiser but became a priest when he made it up to the big leagues for a cup of coffee and fizzled out.It looks like and sounds like he's straight out of central casting for some show like the Sopranos.I know it's been trendy for Hollywood to make movies in the vein of Rudy, the school teacher who pitched for the Rangers and the guy off the street in Philly who played for the Eagles but this seems like it would make a great movie.
On E-Bay they recently were selling these sheets put out by major league baseball and minor league baseball where the players all had to sign them saying they will keep good conduct not using drugs or gambling and I saw one with Scipio's name selling for $10.Maybe being that it has relevance to him becoming a priest where someday a movie might be made of him, paying $10 for a whole team of signatures might have been a steal.
