Just an FYI, the CFL has a fairly new rule that players who are suspended in the NFL are ineligible for the CFL. It was a reaction to the Ricky Williams situation. So the only way Vick would play here would be if he was eligible for the NFL and chose the CFL over it.
I suppose it is possible he could become eligible for the NFL but just not get any offers from any of the 30+ teams - and get some offers in the CFL. I personally don't see that happening.
I think NFL teams will go after him given the chance. People seem able to forget anything these days. There was a time people thought Kobe Bryant's reputation was beyond repair. That was only a few years ago and not only is he tolerated now, he's a major draw.
Todd Bertuzzi was a major villain in the NHL a few years back. He's basically just a guy now. People forget and let go.
I think Vick will be back in the NFL.

I think it's all going to depend on how big the gambling stuff is involved on that statement that will be released on the 27th.

I can see him being a wide out in the NFL a few years down the road (barring a lifetime ban of course). If that isn't an option I see him plaing in the afl.

Possiblyhe will never play in the NFL again, but I don't see why he would switch positions or play in another league unless he gets $5 million plus to play in a second tier league. I say he returns to the league in 2009. It is gambling but it has nothing to do with football I don't see how a lifetime ban could really result.

A lot of this is mass and media hysteria. I'm not at all backing Vick for dog fighting, but let's keep things in perspective a little. The same people who are all over Vick have no problem with a juicy T-bone steak. Are the media going to be all over the slaughtering of cows, with graphic images of what goes on inside the slaughter house? Let's show it in detail on every news show and see how the meat industry does after that.

Right, we would all want his head if it was our dog but similar torture happens to animals with similar intelligence levels every day. The NFL could cite poor and unethical character or something like that. My guess is they give him a ban of at least a year beyond his sentence to show that they are also taking a stand and then will talk up his comeback making it into a commercial moneymaker.
