OT: Your favorite actor?
My girl thinks Sean Connery is the best living actor. Thinks hes sexy and has a great voice.
My list of favorites include robert Dinero, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, Gene Hackman, Johhny Depp, Nicolas Cage, Richard Dreyfuss, Mel Gibson and Lenardo Cap-a-something(great role in the Aviator).
Overall I like Gene Hackman the best.

Johnny Depp

Used to like Robert Deniro and Al Pacino a lot..
I think the most underrated actor around now is: Chris Cooper, the guy is an amazing actor.
Humphrey Bogart is the best of all time IMO.

Of all time? Marlon Brando.
Depp reminds me of Brando the most.

Not mentioning Clint was an oversight. He was my favorite growing up. Even smoked mini cigars just like Clint for a very brief period.

Some of my favorite are Johnny Depp, Leo Dicaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Ray Liotta, Pacino etc. Gun to my head I'd pick Depp as my overall favorite, he's just too talented and able to play so many roles.

First names that come to mind for me:
Male: Gary Oldman, Ben Kingsley
Female: Julianne Moore, Cate Blanchett
If I had to pick one? Julianne Moore

Kinda surprised that nobody mentioned Mark wahlberg. It seems like every movie that guy is in is a pretty good movie in regards to box office standards.

Method actors tend to be most people's favorites. Best one of late: Philip Seymour Hoffman. F*ck, that guy is good. Check out his gambler's movie. Owning Mahowny.
I'm quite surprised at how good Matt Damon is getting. That guy works his craft.
Back in the days, Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman, and Robert Duvall were all starving actors together:
Quote:
|
Robert Duvall was a roommate of Hoffman during their struggling actor years in New York City. Duvall and Hoffman tease each other on the matter of acting training, as Duvall was trained by Sanford Meisner whereas Hoffman was brought up on Lee Strasberg’s method acting. Hoffman is good friends with actor Gene Hackman, who was also friends with Duvall during their years as starving actors. Hackman shared an apartment with Hoffman for a time.

Did I tell you I had a scene with Kevin Costner? Really did. I was in the theater getting pretty nervous, just about ready to crawl under my chair in case anybody recognized me, and poof, nada... They cut it out of the movie.
