That's a good question picoman, I remember when one big one hit down there and they were down for about two days, thank god that the NFL Regular Season isn't under way they would be in some trouble down there. That happened a few years ago and they got hit pretty hard, it sure messed up one Sunday down there but they got back up and running pretty quickly though. They should send everyone an email of what they are planning on doing here. If I remember right I think they did last time.

Blues, it could be the same hurricane you're writing about, but I also recall a few years ago when BetJamaica got hammered big time. They had a posting as soon as you logged with information that they would be shutting down shortly and for the forseeable future. Couple of days later they were back up. I imagine they might be in full evac mode soon.....

It may take the northern track and hit the top half of the island. If that happens they wont get hit with the worst of it.

Looks to me like Dean has made a northern jog, and if it keeps that movement for a few hours it would do well for Jamiaca. Of course by going farther north it makes those of us on the Gulf Coast a little more worried.Ive been through (within 50 miles) probably 10-15 storms in the last 25 years here in FL, and you just dont know how bad one will be till it actually hits.Ive been in Cat 3s that didnt seem so bad (Opal) then been in tropical storms that seemed like the house was going to fall down.

On the bright side I will be a surfing fool next week.

Chatted with Scotty at BetJamaica briefly this morning. He says everyone on the island is scrambling like wild men trying to board everything up. Sounds like the Greek/BetJam guys are doing everything they need to do to be prepared for this thing.

Best wishes to everyone down there ... stay safe and we'll touch base with ya'll after it passes.

I hope so too there picoman, but this is a monster of a storm that is getting ready to hit them there, no matter what it is going to be a serious thing. I believe that the books down there do have generators and that will get them back up and running once things have passed. Yes I do hope the government helps them all out there after this one is over, it does look like a really serious situation there and I hope there isn't too many people killed in this one.

Their website is down as of right now. Has been for about 30 mins. Don't know if this is related or not.
