Default SBRJohn- We need more contests you cheap ass

I ran 20 times the amount of contests money wise on my forum but had 1/10th the traffic.

    Put up some money.

    1. Last man standing. Pick a team with no spread, just to win.

    2. Bracket contest. Get 64 or 32 players.

Dan- You know me, I hardly play in any contests. I like things like bracket contests or head to head for bragging rights.

I'm just surprised that John doesn't give back to the posters.

Raiders, John did give it all back with the BTP contest this year.

We want to do more contests.

Right now, we just don't have the human talent to do it right.

What was the monetary value of your contests? I'll check that against the money given out by BTP, baseball capping etc.

And the less said about the amount of traffic your site had the better. You continually hitting F5 on your PC does not equate to traffic.

I gave away $1000 - $2000 / week. The cappers at my site were some of the best. Ask the mods here, many mods are T F Z members.

I cant remember the amount but I think this years BeatThePrick will payout around $40,000. Not betting accounts, cash. We hope to double it every year.

Yeah I think we could use a new contest here as well.

Why not work something out with a book or two? Every other major forum has, Shit even some small forums have more than two or three..

Beat the Prick is great and definitely one of the best, but I don't see why there is no room for another one with betting account prizes.

No one minds more $$ in their betting accounts.

This site is pretty much a no none sense type forum, and I personally I would like to keep it that way. The thing is it's not for me to decide.

Let's take the high end of your estimate - that means you gave away $100,000 a year. Which you say is 20 times more than SBR. From what I can remember, the BTP contest alone gave away more than $5000 a year. Care to explain the discrepancy? Or is that more raiders BS. And the less said about the level of traffic on your site, the better it is for you. You cut and pasting industry news from other sites does not equate to traffic.

Raiders gave away lots of money and it was easy money as for some reason posters didnt like free money? he had maybe 10 people in some 1000 and 500 a week contests mae no sense but i had no trouble taking a little of it to me it was the sharp thing to do LOL!

but it was no where near 100,000 but it seemed like 100,000 as you didnt have to beat 1000 other posters to win

Bet Trojan gave away a nice chunk i won the $1500 basebal contest last year season long and very good format you just didnt pick sides every week was different so it was interesting

We will develop more and more contests as time goes. As with all the sites we will not do it until we have the ability to do it right.

There are legal issues that prevent us from giving away betting accounts so all SBR contests will give away cash and prizes.

Oh I have RJT. However, I'm referring to this mainly being an informational site in this particular section. Personally, I feel we need a real hardcore capping type section here for the no nonsense type gamblers don't have to go through some of that sorta stuff.

Now as far as contests go... I would like to feel that SBR is a little more than a treasure chest for the contest whores to bleed dry every month. I feel if people want to play those freebies then they can play elsewhere. This is just my 2 cents on this subject though, and does not reflect on SBR's views of the situation.

I'm in favor of a minor expansion in the contest menu at this site. A suicide NFL format or a last man standing college {ats** format are my exacta box. As a marketing tool it could bring in some new blood. As an action junkie it would help reduce "the itch" to get financially involved in each football game within my vision. The baseball contest was very helpful to me. It served my need to maintain some interest in a sport I find mildly entertaining. As a public service it helped me save alot of coin, as I realise my handicapping skills in that sport are woeful at best. Contests can serve as a handicapping tool for others to see the various viewpoints. The prize structure is of minimal concern to me.
    Just my two cents worth*

Indeed, although I'd never say that raiders' sorry excuse for a site was anything but a shill-scam, the point still remains. If the sites that will take on sponsors like BetUS and BetOnSports will offer any cuntomer prizes, it's the equivalent of a murderer offering a token sum as compensation for his victims.

Are totals allowed to be used in the BTP contest? Didn't really see that addressed in the rules, although I could be blind...

You could have a secret password also like "JJGOLD." May I request an invitation BBD?

They did this on the bodybuilding forums for users looking to purchase vitamins over the Internet. You had to earn respect before they let you in.
