    Default Canbet validation code login!

I haven't seen this before. In order to log into Canbet you not only need your username and password, but also a validation code that changes every time.

Does that mean what I fear it could mean? That computer bots are trying to access individual accounts at gambling sites? Possibly with the aid of user lists.

Or is it just an added security?

Sure is a pain in the neck when you're automatically logged out every ten or twenty minutes.

I would imagine it is to stop robots of some sort, but line-grabbing robots rather than account-grabbing robots. Perhaps somebody was using robots to test whether they were accepting bets on scalpable lines automatically or doing their "Maximum exposure reached" trick.

Their lines move slower than at other top books. So this delay, after being logged out, buys them some time? Is that what you mean?

No. If their line is bad, they'll take exposure upto a certain limit, then automatically give you an error message saying limit reached (or similar). They do this whether you try to bet $1 or $1000

So I figure somebody wrote a bot that checks Canbet lines vs Pinny or vs Betfair, tries to bet $1 on anything that looks good, and only reports it to the "controller" if the $1 bet goes through (i.e. it's a selection they're taking money on).
