Anyone else regret the day cell phones became so universal...dont get me wrong like the idea but hate the way they are being abused by people.

They are becoming extremely annoying and making everything apersonal. If you want to catch up with friends go meet them somewhere for a cup of coffee or a drink somewhere and not a 3 min conversation on the phone.

Even at quiet places you can't go anywhere without a ring or someone speaking very loudly...do I really need to know what you are having for dinner or what movie you might be going to see tomorrow?

The main thing I hate is when people drive and talk on them. Its just as bad as drinking and driving.

I was almost hit because of this shit a few months back. This guy didnt notice his light turned red, and ran it. While I was going thru the intersection. If I didnt slam on the breaks, and turn the the left, I would of been jammed right under this guys driver side rocker panel. He had a lifted Dodge ram. I get out to check my car to see if he hit me and I see he is still on the phone, telling me sorry he didnt notice the light change. I told him to get the hell out of there, since there was no damage.

The shit kicker to this, is I was on my way to Allstate to redo my auto insurance. How about that one. I was like give me a break.

If you need to talk while your driving, pull over or tell the other person you will call them back because your on the road. Just that simple.

But on the other hand, the wifes and my cell phones are our main phone. No landline here.

I am amazed it isn't worse. Some people seem to use them properly, but still a stupid, loud ring tone in a quiet place is annoying as hell.

Driving while talking is of course a problem, but until I actually get in an accident, the daily breaches of etiquette bother me more.

Also on Buses & Trains when prats ramble on & on with inane conversation ( In loud voices of course) when all you want to do is try & relax

F'in hate them. Have one but it is now in a cupboard or somewhere, don't know - don't care. I don't like being constantly contactable. Half the people that be ringing me piss me off anyways.

Not sure about where you live, but here they even give a reminder on the screen before the movies starts to turn your cell phone off. People still dont do it.

Sorry but what an idiotic post to be made. Buddy bear this is just nonsense. You are just stating an obvious fact that 99% of America has been annoyed by. OK lets get rid of cell phones yea smart move buddy. Of course people need to show proper etiquette with cell phones, but how do you know that they are able to meet these people for coffee like you say? And if someones paying for the minutes then they shuold use them. Please show more logic with your next post. At Vegas it is always loud we don't have a cell phone problem.

a friend of mine bought a jammer for his 1hr bus ride every day.in a confind area of a bus he can eliminate every cellphone.he only uses it when he wants peace of mind he says.
