Default Who's your NCAA football champion?

I'll post mine later. Who you pickin? Last year I had Tex and Okl the year before.

Tex +170 to win Big 12 and +1200 to win it all: Texas was 11-1 last year with it's only loss to Oklahoma. Oklahoma was loaded last year and lost almost the whole team to the NFL. Heisman candidate QB Young returns. He's a dangerous runner who ran for 1079 yds at 6.5 yds/carry with 14 TDs. Young broke a Rose Bowl record last year in total offensive yards. Tex was the #1 rushing team in the Big 12 avg 299 yds/game. They return 8 starters on a D and are a very strong on both the OL and DL. Steele has the Tex D line rated #2 in the country. This is the year that Tex finally beats Okl and gets their shot at a National Championship.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

Oklahoma was just demolishing teams last year until the Big 12 championship game when they lost to K St. and then they lost to LSU in the national championship game.

Oklahoma returns 9 starters on offensive including Heisman Trophy winner White who threw for 40 TDs with a QB rating of 158.1. The whole OL returns including 2 starting WRs and the starting TB.

This team outscored teams 45.2 to 14.8 last year. They put up 461.4 yards/game while giving up 255.6. In Big 12 play they outscored opponenets 412 to 90 going 8-0.

This is the best team that I have ever capped in preseason. They score at will and even the PR Perkins ran back 4 returns for TDs.

Oklahoma +700 to win the Orange Bowl

I read somewhere that Texas starting RB Jamaal Charles has added 13 lbs of muscle to his frame and is still the fastest player on the team.

    Texas will be good fellas

USC v. Texas title game could be a nice one :-)

I hate to tout chalk but just look at USC. They are beyond loaded. They are darn near NFL deep. As a dark horse I like Tenn.

One of the guys on ESPN said that this years version of USC is one of the best college football teams of all time. On paper.

To win the championship..somebody with a soft schedule like USC, Michigan, WVU, or Louisville. The SEC is just too tough. Very hard for a team to make it out of the SEC year in and year out it is by far the best football conference that floods the NFL with players every year. I think the SEC had like 7 out of the top 11 recruiting classes this year. Just sick.

I like West Virginia as well. If they can tighten up the D, the most losses they can have are 2 in my opinion. The toughest spot on their schedule is @ Rutgers, then 10 days later at home vs. Louisville. They win those 2 and they'll play in the National Championship Game. Personally, I think Rutgers peaked last year and I think Louisville has lost a great offensive weapon in their former coach, Petrino.

WVU plays Friedgen early @ Maryland but Maryland is a bad September team. I think they most likely go undefeated and will be an underdog to whomever they play in the National Championship Game.

    My 2 cents.

I'd love to see West Virginia, Louisville or Va Tech in the BCS game. But like most others here, I have bought into the notion that USC is simply too good. I'm interested in that early September game when the Trojans go to Nebraska, as well as the LSU-Va Tech contest a week earlier.

It is tough for an Aggie like me to say this, but I do think Texas is another likely candidate. They have a very favorable slate -- not easy, just favorable -- with TCU and Nebraska in Austin, OU at the same old neutral site in Dallas, and their toughest road games being Iowa State and Texas A&M.

If one of the SEC teams comes out of their conference championship with just one loss, they have to be favored to meet USC in the title match assuming we don't have several undefeateds.

Definitely agree that the SEC is just too tough to come out of unscathed. The two best teams in the country may be LSU and FL, and if there was a playoff these teams would play in the championship. Have you seen Florida's schedule this year? its brutal.

I think Florida will be too young this year. I like Tennessee.

USC is gonna be the team I look at making some early bets on before the line gets too inflated. They have an early game at Nebraska. A good home field for the dog and a top 20 team on the upswing. We could see a line like USC -12. To me, this game is a route like 31-3.

The Big Ten is always underrated. They're the best conference in football this year and will make some noise.

    And Nebraska.

I think Michigan has a great shot of getting to New Orleans, but beating a team such as LSU in the title game will be extremely tough.

Look out of Oklahoma. I think the Sooners will make a run this year.

I'll say a 1-loss LSU beats an undefeated UM in the in the champ. game.

Michigans losses some studs on both lines. They had a great team last year.

"USC does look great but they are going to get beat by Cal."
I havent taken USC to win it all yet but I will. The problem with this bet is USC always takes a few games off. They get down to a decent Arizona St 27-7 by halftime but still win. They can get away with taking a few games off in the PAC. But its a real risk to the wager.

Alot of people like Tenn and Cal both having good years. Should be a great game in Week 1 when they play a night game on ABC that first weekend. Cal is -5.5.

Certainly like LSU to win it, I think they'll beat either West Virginia, Florida State (if and only if Xavier Lee emerges as the fulltime QB), or whoever comes out of the aTm/OU/Nebraska Big 12 Championship.
