Default Does the avg sharp player play the lottery?

I know one that does. We go into a store for some snuff and minutes later he's scratching cards on the carpet of my 91 El Dorado. Then later when we are comparing games he calls me a square.

Whats the lotto take-out 60%? Yea, sharp play. Haven't bought a lotto ticket in 10+ years.

I don't play scratch tickets or numbers at all. It's a fools game.

There is always some a$$hole at the corner playing a million daily numbers....when all I want is a gallon of milk.

I often heckle corner store gamblers while in line.
"What a waste" and "Jesus Christ....Mohegan Sun is 35 minutes down the road".......You know your better off putting that all on black or red at the wheel."

No way I could play the lotto at all. Hell, You might as well just burn your money in your fireplace instead.

I play pick 3's only and about $50 a day, its not a bad bet if you know number frequencies like I do. I hold my own.

JJ....your the guy holding me up at the store.

I hate to say it....but most of the people I see lining up to play a million lotto are black or hispanic, not all....but most.

It's funny, the state doesn't mind taking money from those that don't have a lot. If you want to play a game of skill or wager on sports they want to hang you on the cross.

The real fun begins when you win more than 500.00 dollars, then the state of CT wants 35% right off the top. The best thieves wear suits and hold office.

I grab a couple of quickpicks for the big draws when I think of it (a couple times a month maybe).

I agree with JBC about how annoying people can be who really think they're doing something scientific. Just buy your tickets and go away for crap sake. If you get lucky, you get lucky.

FWIW, it's mainly white folk that I see doing that around here.

Lotto isn't something I analyze with respect to "sharpness." I realize it's poor value but it's too small-potatoes to bother analyzing for me. I don't even really think of it as gambling. I just slap down 4 bucks every once in awhile and forget about it.

Don't get me wrong mud......if it's big money, I'll slap down a dollar or two. I've got people at the local corner store who bring sheets of play 3 numbers into the store. Thats absurd.

Possibly a syndicate manager wagering for a workplace or similar? They're popular here.

Numbers tend to repeat, any good math guy can make money on pick 3 boxes, front and back pairs

Like those "sharps" keeping a list of all the numbers at the roulette wheel. They might as well dootle something productive like some breasts or something. Its scary to even imagine folks would think there is a way to track these random events.

My grandmother played the same numbers on PICK SIX lotto for years. She decides to change it up one week and changes the last number to 29 instead of 28...

All five numbers hit that week and the last one turned up to be 28...I was born on the 28th...

She walked away with 5K but missed out on 5 million. Such is life but that taught her to never fade me

I sometimes am at the store for 30 minutes playing numbers, anyone starts all I do is life my shirt up and show that I carry.

Lately been sending shit in on the phone with store owner even though that is illegal, kind of like a numbers sheet. We settle on Fridays but he has to punch tickets up.

I read a story one time about sharps betting roulette. I think it was Billy Walters who hit the Golden Nugget playing the same 4 numbers over and over.

I read a story about 5 or so years back about an old man in Florida who had played the big lottery game there for like 30 years, same numbers each day. He got sick 1 day, had to go to the hospital and didn't buy a lottery ticket for the first time in 30 years or however long it was. His numbers hit that day and when he heard about his numbers hitting he dropped dead of a heart attack right there. True story.

I play the lottery when it gets up to big numbers. It is square to spend a lot of money on it but I buy a $10 ticket with 10 sets of numbers every month or so. Big deal. I don't consider that square at all.
