Default My homemade catfish bait

I reckon I’ve always had a bit of entrepreneur’s spirit. Or is it entre-manure?

I got this idea to make my own catfish bait because the stuff that works always falls off the dadgum hook. You know chicken liver, blood baits, ect.

I took a combination of stink ball bait, blood and liver stink bait and cooked it. The stench was beyond comprehension as in way beyond. You pretty much have to bury the pot used in this operation afterwards. The stench is a definite appetite depressor for anyone on a diet.

Anyway, I then took this dirty bomb gravy I made and put in a 2 lb slab of tripe. Cow stomach, impossible to get off a hook. I simmered that for about 4 hours.

Going to test my invention tomorrow.

My nephew caught a catfish that was nearly an Arizona state record, and he was only using an ordinary worm.

We go to the store and get the best fish money can buy, none of this bull shit sitting on a boat like a jerkoff waiting to catch someone. Fishermen are your biggest story tellers.

Who is we? I thought you were a loner?
Your alter-ego doesn't qualify you as a couple.

jj's site friends travel with him everywhere, you just can't see them. And sometimes he forgets they are with him. But his story is he has fishing buddies. Come on teller of tall tales, you must have a great fish story.

"definite appetite depressor "

Maybe you are thinking about this the wrong way. Could market it as the "Cat Fish Food DIET".

Is this "we" the teen males you hang out with? That was the best story ever at EOG, your day with the young boys. You have a copy of that to share here? Was it underage gambling, fishing or bowling, I forget? Come on jj, you are one of the forums best storyteller. If it was not fishing then nevermind, but that was a tale.

I gotta confess, even though I can walk 150 feet out my back door and be in the Gulf Of Mexico, Im as guilty as JJ. I go to one of the seafood markets down the street and buy all my seafood, rather than catching it. When I do go fishing we always do the catch and release thing here.

I love cat fishing on the Connecticut River. John.....you are dead on about the bait.....half the time I'm wondering if my chicken liver is even still on the hook.

Freezing it works decent as well.

I use my hands and stick my two fingers in a sunken log; the catfish bites my fingers, I hook it and yank it out of it's hole. That's how real men fish...
