Mention "3" books you definitely need in your arsenal this football season.
Would love a little reasoning as to why as well..
Here is mine:
Matchbook (reduced juice)
Bet Jamaica/Greek (reliable)
5 Dimes/You Wager (parlays/teasers gimmicks etc)
Now give me yours.. Thanks in advance.

MB is just as reliable as JM...which means there is no need for JM.
Come to think of it, there is no need for any other book than Matchbook

I like to get down sizeable action and get it down early, so that eliminates matchbook for me (save the superbowl and premier NFL playoff games where you can trade sizeable numbers early). My three would probably be (in no particular order):
1. theGreek/BetJamaica (just too reliable as you stated)
2. Bookmaker (they are cheap and take a little while to pay, but you can bet early numbers for larger amounts and they do pay), and
3. BetOnline (their juice and limits are just too good to pass up at this point)

I disagree for a number of reasons, but if you just play bases or just play sides and totals from mid-week on I agree they're top notch....

well the way I bet football I don't really need the opener on sunday nights. Also this is the first football season we have without Pinnacle, so we should see more liquidity. I mean there was 7k on both sides for that Pitt/NO game last week...sign of good things to come.

I'm going to steer away from parlays and teasers for the most part, but BetPOP offers some decent odds with parlays and teasers.
6pt 2tmr= +100
10pt 3tmr= -110
2tm parlay- 14/5

What I'm sure your [sic] failing to realise is that a "square" book offering "bad" prices on favourites consequently offers "good" prices on the underdogs.

And he also forgot the apostrophe as well (although I don't think he "forgot" them at all) but, even worse, he forgot the basic fact that "square" books offer very good prices on underdogs.

armyofflowers,
Can we expect your participation around here the entire football season?
Although it's early and you are new, you are becoming one of my favorite posters here. Hope you stick around

Wish I could play at the top 2.
I'd include Bodog because of all the props. I'm all over their politcal props because they are the only ones to have many of them.
My 3 football books will for sure be:
BetJamaica ( I use for horses as well)
Bookmaker
Bodog for dogs . Greek for favs

i am aware that olympic is not a square book. My comment was for sportsbook.com, bodog. Sure you might get a better dog line at bodog, but you will pay -115 for it. Why? Makes no sense to me. I make my money through reduced juice. Also a book like 5dimes that has $500 limits is square in the sense that they won't take larger action because they are afraid.
At Matchbook you can get 100k down within the hour and still pay 3%. Now do I have 100k. No. The opportunity is there though. They don't limit you and they have the vest vig. Period.
Now if I was to limit myself to a 10% shop, but wanted reliability it would go like this.
1. WSEX
2. Olympic
3. Bookmaker

OK, -110 and 10% are totally different things. I'm sure that there isn't a 10% juice book out there (although kudos to them if they can keep it going).

the only thing I've found with them, as they are kind of like bodog in that some underdog lines get inflated...so if you need that extra half point before kick-off or tip-off, they can come in handy...you've got yourself three good books though and should be fine...
