I believe this is correct. And in fact was confirmed by several BoS workers at another site at the time of the BoS crunch, and their final scramming from CR.
When Bestlines did what I think was their initial brochure mailing last year, they got the names & addresses from the BoS mail list.
Of this there is zero doubt. How can I be so certain? Because, like many other in the Big Sweat Period, when BoS still had a few people answering phones in CR, I called and gave them an address that NO ONE else knew of, an empty condo I had not yet rented out. I'd never received ONE single piece of mail there up to that time.
Shortly after, tho, I received at that address a promo brochure from Bestlines. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to know that that was from the BoS list, harvested by their skeleton crew still manning the lines in CR, and passed on to the new operation in Panama.
They were caught redhanded. IE, there are former BoS execs working Bestlines,or BetOnLine,as I think it is now called. Or there at least was some kind of close relationship.
Does this mean that, like BoS, they will abscond with player funds? No, of course not. No more than presidents and junior execs at a failed bank are necessarily responsible for the decisions that caused that bank to fail. It could have been a crooked treasurer, board of directors, etc.
And I'm not sure BoS would not still be operating today were it not for the fanatic element in the current Bush admin that went after Carruthers.
Still, I'd tread cautiously for a few years with Bestlines, betonline. If you normally would open at a book with, say, xxx dollars, cut it to x.
What would be mighty refreshing is if Dalton or the others who worked in CR for BoS would be forthcoming, tell us the truth, what their part was in the closing, and why it won't re-occur (like not travelling on a intenational flight wih a stopover in the U.S!)
The connection between BoS and Bestlines/Betonline is beyond any reasonable doubt. It doesn't at all mean that the same fate that BoS experienced will be in store with this operation.
But what I think bothers me most is that the former BoS execs at Betonline are not being candid. Tell me, Bet on line, how you got the mailing addresses that were given to the BoS phone line people, near the end? Tell me if Dalton did or did not ship everything not nailed down in the BoS offices in CR to Panama, to be used by Bestlines, or, now, BoL.
Stonewalling doesn't cut it among aware players. Honesty goes a long way -- unless you concur with PT Barnun about the timeframe in which the world's suckers are birthed.
