Default Should we have a dedicated "Hardcore Baskets" forum?

If we did I would post that the Spurs-Hawks game looked rigged. I mean come on, I'm hanging on a ML win to cash a stupid little parlay and they lose SU to the Hawks in a game they were never in?

Anyway, where was I? Do we need a baskets forum or is the Sports Forum good enough?

this was my only loss for the day

i was gonna bet 2 units but something told me only 1 (prolly it was road game and spurs burned me like this last year vs memphis only at home)

something in the back of my mind tells me they won't win it all this year and I cannot fully understand it cause they are just as good as last year but I think maybe they won't be as hungry for it this year

I would love to have seperate forums dedicated to all of the major sports. Also, a seperate contests forum would be nice.

Let's get it done. The only one we have to convince is overworked Bill. What do you say Bill? I might even talk about my spurs theory which has been money for a few years.

Just an FYI (not regarding the new forum but regarding the parlay):

Big NBA moneyline favorites are not a good bet at all. Just the opposite, betting those dogs is a bread and butter play for me.

On the other hand, lop-sided ML favorites in college hoops are much more reliable. Not only do I not bet those dogs, I don't even bother keeping research on it any more. It's not worth the time because I have found that the favorites win too consistently in the long-term.

I'm not trying to be a 20/20 hindsight know-it-all. Any time you're looking at a big -600 favorite in anything you expect to win, and most of the time you will. And if you've got a thing for the specific team, then you're probably going to bet them no matter what (although, for what it's worth, I can tell you I'm up 5.7 units on my ML bets against the Spurs this year).

I'm just pointing out that, based on my research covering well over a thousand samples, if you're filling out a parlay and you've got a choice, ncaab favorites are a lot more reliable than NBA.

Now wait a second! If we were to have an NBA forum, I demand an NHL forum!

I'm already working on a new character playing 'Maxifader of the day!'.

LOL sounds like a good name for me.

Thanks Mudcat, although the advice is a tad bit dated. In lieu of actually capping I will sometimes assemble a ML parlay that even a square would laugh at.

I'm keen on a baskets forum. Might even reveal who will be in the NBA championship series.

Maybe we should just make a Spurs forum!?

But yeah, a Hoops forum sounds good. We definitely need a place to house our NCAA bracket contest.

bill, lets be fair about this here. both Maxipad and myself are lobbing for a pucks section ... not to mention a football section too. i know we only have a few weeks of football left to go. but, we should still have a football section. if were gonna go this route that is.

Listen to the voice of reason, Bill. Us little people who come from underprivileged environment haven't had it easy. Life has been tough and our only hope is to have a forum where we could express ourselves on a subject that fills our heart with joy.

We rely on your kindness and sympathy, Bill.

would be nice to have a basketball forum...and by the way guys, isn't it Detroit's turn tonight to lose away to a hapless team, after the long list of fallen giants like Indiana, SA?
