Default Anyone Wondering Why The MLB Covered Everything Up Need To Look At The Tour de France

The Tour de France has become ultra vigilent in their efforts to crack down on steroids, enhancers, blood doping, etc, and as a result of working so diligently to run a clean race the American media labels it a "joke" even though this year's winner will by all accounts have earned it fairly.

MLB, on the other hand, allowed cheating to run rampant while they were struggling after the strike. Everyone knows it occurred, but because nothing concrete ever came out, the cloud of suspicion only helps to add to the intrigue. By purposely avoiding to ever establish guilt on any of its players, the MLB has benefitted from many historic milestones in our innocent until proven guilty society.

After hearing all the crap the Tour de France is taking for choosing to actively police itself, one has to wonder why anyone would bother to try to remain on the up and up in regard to their respective sport's legitimacy....

I think you are saying there is a conflict of interests when regulating the sports and most would agree. The major sports leagues are big business. Are they going to let their business take a hit if they can help it? Maybe a third party to test all of the major leagues is a good option?

These scandals make you think about some of the conspiracy theories we heard about in the past. For example, Jordan's time out of the NBA was actually a gambling suspension. That one doesn't make a whole lot of sense but there was the issue of court docs showing a referee introduced MJ to a girlfriend. How does a ref and the player become friends?

Pump in enough money and sports becomes as sleazy as politics. Almost everyone has his price. Cheating to get ahead has become an epidemic. Very frustrating for those who play it straight.

Since there seems no end in sight, why not have two leagues for each sport? One for cheaters, and the other for honest athletes. Extra treat for the public: any cheat who is caught in the straight league is executed on the spot.

The thing is... people will still go watch the league with cheats more than the non-cheats since it will be more exciting. Just look at body building, there are natural body builders and there are steroid freaks. Who do people consider Mr. Universe? The steroid freaks...
