I have been here two years----and I have seen JJ called "coach" countless times.

I have no idea why.

He's a good 3rd base coach - he made a couple of videos about it. I don't have time to look for them now.

I heard that he got involved because he thought he could make money betting on little league and high school baseball games if he was an insider, but some 14-year old bookie ended up cleaning him out. So not sure if he still coaches. But you can see in the videos that he's a natural. He's like Bear Bryant, Vince Lombardi, Connie Mack, and Tony Larussa all rolled into one.

In some cases and I think it applies here sometimes a coach can teach us what not to do rather than what to do.

With this in mind JJ could have easily been given the nickname "Professor".
