I try not to bet more then 3 games a day, if I do bet more it usually don't go over 5 games. This is basically for baseball, basketball and hockey.
Football on the other hand I take as a weekly total. Sometimes I can bet up to 10 to 12 games on any given week durning football season. But that is not that often. It all depends if value is there.

If your pattern is to lose in the long run like most players, wagering on 3 or less is better.
If you know what you are doing, you should bet as many games as possible where you have a positive angle.
(Well, I'm assuming uniform bet size. If you increase/decrease your bet size because of having more/less plays, it becomes a bit more complicated.)

Less plays you make the better chance you have to show a profit for the year, that is fact.
