Stern doesn't care about influence. Not to mention he already has plenty of it. He can have on a B-list guest, or a little known member of the wack pack, and they will be #1 on Google Trends for the day. Not to mention that his minimum of 5-6 million DAILY LISTENERS is far more than most daytime talk shows get. Sirius is here to stay, folks....

All the infrastructure is in place, they will stay in business, just need to pay down the debt enough to make the business feasible.

Not sure how well they're doing now but I don't imagine it's much better.

Stern probably won't stay with them for a number of reasons. He's lost most of his relevance since moving to sat radio. If he wants ot be in the spotlight, he'll get back into terrestrial radio. If he doesn't want the spotlight he'll just retire. Furthermore, I don't think Sirius/XM have the money ot pay him $100 million a year anymore. I highly doubt he will take a significant pay cut, which is what they need him to do to stay profitable. Howard brought a lot of listeners to Sirius, but he also came with an ENORMOUS price tag; one that may not have been worth it.

Sat radio may be around in five years, but this is by no means certain right now.
