Default Talk to me about BODOG

So I've never used them since I'm Canadian, but they're now accepting us Canucks. I like the one time rollover on the bonus and I'm thinking I might be able to pick up a "square" number here and there.

Any feedback? Worth joining?

Not many banking options though

Don't waste your time. They have a nice looking web site and an easy to play interface but they're very late in posting lines. Circle too many games so you can't parlay and they have been known to slow pay and no pay and bounce checks. Also if you win too much they will start to pinch you on the juice. I've heard they've gotten better but not worth the risk with so many other better books IMO.

Payout problems? Really?

I gotta admit I've been somewhat on the sidelines for the past 4 years and only playing here and there, but I always remembered them being "solid" when it came to safety of funds. What the hell happened?

bodog is garbage. those late lines suck. and isnt it bodog that has those shady jm lines on his plays?

i used them in the past and the payouts took forever if i even got them. i cashed out with them after getting fed up....let's just say bodog and I arent on good terms.

they are good. I have gotten a few payouts from them within 3-4 business day via fex-ex with no problems at all. I always get good lines as well but often at -115

Bodog was founded in 1994 by Calvin Ayre as an online gambling company. In early 1996 a business plan for this venture was prepared by Allan Williams, a specialist in proposal writing and a former Vice-President of TTA,a Vancouver based (BCIT-owned) internationally-focused corporation which remains to 2010. His business plan was accepted by BoDog (Calvin) and serious investors who saw a significant potential in the concept presented. BoDog later diversified with bodogFight, a mixed-martial arts promotion business as well as record label Bodog Music. Those projects were both shut down in 2008.
In 2008, the business model was changed and the company claims to have ceased operation of all gambling related sites directly. The new business model has Bodog licensing its name to a third party company for the rights to run those sites under the Bodog brand name to various licensees. Bodog founder, Calvin Ayre, describes the BodogBrand.com licensing model “not unlike the Virgin-branded venture capital organization founded by Richard Branson”.[1]
BodogBrand.com's main licensee is Morris Mohawk Gaming Group, which runs Bodog.com, the online gambling services within the United States. Morris Mohawk’s CEO is Alwyn Morris is a recipient of the Order of Canada. In a May 2009 interview, Morris describes the brand licensee relationship with Bodog as "a kind of franchise".[2] Morris Mohawk is based in Kahnawake, a native reserve in Quebec, Canada, pursuant to its online gaming license granted by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission.
Bodog Europe, operates Bodog.co.uk in Europe and Bodog.ca in Canada. Haydock Sports, runs Bodog88.com serving Asia.[3] Haydock is headquartered in Manila and run by former Managing Director of Asia for Victor Chandler International, operating pursuant to its own remote gaming license granted by First Cagayan in the Philippines.
In September of 2009, BodogBrand.com announced a fourth online gaming brand license arrangement with Patrik Selin, former CEO of the Ongame Poker Network. Selin indicates that he has acquired the source code to the proprietary poker product and commitments from Morris Mohawk Gaming Group, Bodog Europe and Haydock to join the Bodog Network and provide a liquidity base upon the launch of the network in 2010. some of the most legit poker on the net. dont get as much of the BS. not as much traffic as tilt or stars.

sportswise- they have a lot of tennis matches and put the lines for those out very early. as for the resta the sports- they circle A LOT of games and prevent you from betting on them just cause. and those lines come out very late- sometimes they skip games and for some games almost every night they neglect a few moneylines.

They have been very good of late. They had processor problems and a patent lawsuit that were resolved about a year ago. Their rating dropped from A down to B-/C+ during that period. It has since rebounded to the A- area. Some don't like them but this is a very good book with some great lines and betting options.

Bodog is a good book, people always complain about the bad lines, well don't bet on that game, you can't have 2 bad lines on one game also. Book is good for betting dogs....you can get -105 on sides and totals quite often, but that also means the other play is -115.

A lot do. Bodog is just one of those books guys love and love to hate but still play there. They have the easiest props around but the limits are low.

Just like everyone else said....Takes them about 3 hours before gametime to get ML's up. Payouts are fast, but only 1 free per calendar month.
