Since the question is purely hypostatical, then let's just say that the sportsbooks that do NOT pay, (scam books) were actually books that hire bad line managers or just plain bad management. I can't see in my mind that a sportsbook would come in and purposely do bad business in an industry that is SO money-spinning. I mean who would not want to operate a business like CRIS or SPORTSBOOK? So in answering your question in a hypostatical fashion, I would say that things would be totally different in a hypostatical situation and given that your question deals mainly from a "legal" point of view which effects the bettor, then we would have to assume that lawmakers have already figured out a way to legislate the "house". About Bodog,

When I First Opened A Sportsbook Account It Was
With Bodog after getting a flyer in the mail that caught
my attention and thought bodog was great. But now
that i know about the competition I can tell you about
    bodog
--I'll start with the bad: They are very slow on posting lines,VERY!!!! Slow!!! Also often they don't
accept wagers on certain games for some weird reason? There Money Line Odds are awful compared to other
Major online sportsbooks. It Would be hard for me to
believe any sophisticated sportsbook player would
choose bodog over books like pinnacle, cris,or
    matchbook.
Now the good: Best customer service,
    Great Teasers,Easy to Navigate Betting,And 10%Bonus
Always. bodog is good for beginners in my opinion

Best books to me--> Pinnacle,Carib, and Matchbook.
oh one more bad thing about bodog- Calvin :frustrate

Im thinking of leaving now because I want lines earlier than noon for college basketball, but other than that, I have no problems. Was just curious as to why you would lable it "a garbage book".

BTW - Im joining Pinnocle once the nfl season ends since everyone claims it to better than sliced bread...

It's not that it is bad...they'll pay but the lines are not real sharp, you are not getting any real opinionated lines..you are paying juice, poor customer service, etc...Just b/c a book pays doesn't make it good...in fact, if that was the case the only way we would evaluate books is by whether they paid or not.

In short, why would you play there when you can play at much better places? Let me just say once you join Pinnacle you will never leave it it is by far the best place to play at I guarantee.

    No love for The Greek?

After taking all my money out of BetUS, I was checking out a bunch of sites to decide where to re-start. My restart has been put on hold due to the recent neteller events and what not... but I liked the Greek's interface, plus it seemed to offer the ability to bet on everything (like hockey team totals, which I didn't see at some of the other books), plus it got an A+ here. If I ever do end up depositing money when things clear up, is the Greek a decent choice?

This thread is a few years old and Pinnacle unfortunately doesn't accept US players anymore so I am wondering what sportsbook would high rollers feel 100% confident with their money TODAY with everything that is going on with online gamgling. As in 100% confident I mean they will pay if you win and withdraws and easy with no hopes to jump through. betcris? thegreek? vipsports? 5dimes? I'm sure I'm missing some others.

    Thanks

Assuming I want to bet on sports, Pinnacle. All things considered, I'd rather have Tradesports (before the Intrade split) than Pinnacle b/c I like to bet bizare things more than sports.
