Default A few questions for you...

First let me say thanks to everyone here on the forum. I have been a member for a few weeks now and have really been able to get a lot of good information from everyone. Last last few weeks have been some of the best I have had wagering in a long time and most of it is due to the info I get from here. I don't bet huge amounts but what I have learned from here has helped me a great deal. I have been a lot more disciplined when wagering on games and not trying to win money on every game. But I do have a couple of questions.

I see a lot of people here making some middle bets. At what point do you find the value in a middle bet. What are you looking for when you are making that wager?

Also, the one thing I am not quite sure on is when someone is talking about "fading". Could someone explain that one to me.?

Like I said I have already learned a great deal just from reading your posts but I want to try and have as much of an advantage going into each game as I can.

    Thanks again fellas.

Fading = going against someone's plays for whatever reason. Normally because they are either a complete idiot, or because they are on a losing run. Personally, I think it is stupid, especially in regards to fading services. The only fading I consider at all is fading the general public's overreaction (sort of like I was talking about with the Chiefs/Cowboys this week, though normally an even stronger situation). I would recommend you handicap the games yourself, take a little advice from those who are doing well, and leave fading to others. That's what I try to do.

Fading means to take the opposite pick. Ex: Quarm likes Pitts over the Bears on Sunday. I like to fade him so I would take Chicago.

This is a little complicated. There are different values for different numbers. Trying to hit a 3 with plays of +3.5 and -2.5 is much easier than hitting a 9 with plays of +9.5 and -8.5.

Razz- I'd have to disagree with you on the fades. It's much easier to find a guy that hits 45% than it is to find guys hitting 55%.

Queen actually is taking a side on the a game? Oh
did i say Queen I meant Quarm.. I've never seen
him predict a game or have anything meaningful
to say. He's my good luck and i have clowned his
ass so bad! When i went 6-0 on Sat He was no where
to be found.. Queen is his name not Quarm

Ok, I see where you guys are going on the fading. Kind of like a few days ago I believe it was BuddyBear went against the betting public on the Iona game since everyone seemed to think Vegas made a mistake with the line.

Now that I understand a little more I used to fade a friend of mine all the time. He was really bad and I would call him to see what he likes just so I could bet the opposite. I would really hammer his "locks" of the weeks.

fading AK is usually "solid", although he's beat the prick (literally and figuratively) and I haven't yet...
