Al Gore's Son Arrested
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. - Al Gore's son was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of possessing marijuana and prescription drugs after deputies pulled him over for speeding, authorities said.
Al Gore III, 24, was driving a blue Toyota Prius about 100 mph on the San Diego Freeway when he was pulled over at about 2:15 a.m., Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino said.
The deputies said they smelled marijuana and searched the car, Amormino said. They found less than an ounce of marijuana along with Xanax, Valium, Vicodin and Adderall, which is used for attention deficit disorder, he said.
"He does not have a prescription for any of those drugs," Amormino said.
Gore was being held in the men's central jail in Santa Ana on $20,000 bail.
Kalee Kreider, a spokeswoman for his parents, did not immediately return phone messages to The Associated Press on Wednesday.
The son of the former vice president and Democratic presidential nominee also was pulled over and arrested for pot possession in December 2003, in Bethesda, Md., while he was a student at Harvard University.
He completed substance abuse counseling as part of a pretrial diversion program to settle those charges.
The youngest of Al and Tipper Gore's four children and their only son, Gore lives in Los Angeles and is an associate publisher of GOOD, a magazine about philanthropy aimed at young people.

The Bush twins are pretty hot; this son is lack the black sheep of the family in more ways than one. Looks like Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

looks like ol' Internet Al needs to hitch up the team of horses his daddy taught him to plow fields with and head cross-country like the Clampetts to bail Capote out

Typical politician,he's going to save the world but can't save going to hell
Typical socialist politician ''all democrats are industrial strength socialist and republicans are socialist lite''where he's out to save the world and make it a better place but he can't even save his own family from going to hell in a handbaskest.
Well, what should we expect from a preachy SOB like Gore who's the biggest user of energy while telling all the peons that they should conserve energy and go without using energy for even bare essential living.
Isn't it embarrassing when people become cult members and back a presidential candidate that they think will change everything for the better and make a difference. Then you wonder why we have so many many con men being able to pursuade people to get in on ponzy and pyramid schemes.
Another socialist that goes around with force feeding us all ''It takes a village''crap to raise good kids.Evidentally some old hippie druggie raised Al's kid while he was out saving the world.
Yup,Gore is one of those ,,We know what's best for you A-holes so someone should get back preaching at him that we know what's best for him and if he would have stayed home and raised his kids right instead of off to save the world we would all be better with his kid not being a criminal.

Why he may not be so guilty
First of all, there are online pharmacies both in the U.S. and overseas that will give you online consultations with doctors both in real time, and/or simply give you a form to fill out, and will then send you prescription drugs, which is not illegal in most states, so we need to be careful concluding he bought these drugs illegally.
Marijuana possession is now decriminalized. It is a stupid thing to do; But it is not a crime.
So we have a violation for the marijuana, and possibly nothing illegal with the other drugs.

Yeah, doing 100 with all that crap in your car at two in the morning would seem to suggest that Ol' Al has one mental midget for a son. But I'm not sure it means much of anything else. If this was the only arrest in this country yesterday for pot/prescription drugs, then you have a story.

100 mph in a Prius?
OK, I think I got that one figured out. Officer approaches window and asks, "son, you got any idea how fast you were going?" Little Al's response (insert best Tommy Chong imitation) "Hey, uniform dude, well, I wasn't really paying attention, man, I guess it seemed like i was booking maybe 100 mph!!" "yea, thats right--write that down, man!! Step out of the car?? Dude, if you want a toke all you gotta do is ask--I am not sure i can step out of this ugly egg!!"
