Well that's true, and Gore is decidedly not a mastermind of politics, but in this case, it wouldn't matter.

Gore is the anti-Bush, people remember that he "won" the election in '00, and they will vote him in this time in a gesture of atonement. He has played everything right since '00. The global warming stuff is huge for him, even big corporations are running ads now trying to make themselves seem more "green", and Gore is indelibly associated as a champion of all of that.

Gore's liabilities - his wooden comportment, his somewhat embarrassing videotaped appearances, et al - none of that would make much of a difference now. He would steamroll over Hillary and any Republican candidate, even Rudy.

Gore would win the election. All other high profile Dems have proven themselves to be spineless pushovers in the past seven years. Disgraceful how they failed to stand up and raise hell.

I would need higher odds to bet on Gore, but I wouldn't put my money anywhere else; at least not until the final month of the election.

Wow I didn't look at these odds before, I just glanced over them.

First of all, I would POUND the negative Obama line at -325. That is a much much better bet than the Gore bet. If Gore enters, he'll win. Obama has zero chance, despite how it may seem at the moment. Unless something f*cked up happens to both the Hillary and Edwards campaigns, Obama has no chance. I'm sure he knows that too. He got into the race to establish himself as a national figure, and it was a very smart move, and it worked as well as he hoped it would. But he has no chance, I'd pound away at the -325.

And Edwards at +1200?? What?? That is a crazy line, he has a much better chance than that. If Gore doesn't get in, Edwards will really challenge Hillary hard. Dems are very very skittish about Hillary, if she messes up a bit, or Edwards plays things well, they will switch over to him. Especially since Obama takes away Hillary voters. So that's how I'd play it, I'd pound the negative Obama line, then try to jackpot it with a modest Edwards bet, and then maybe, maybe hedge some of it with a Gore bet.

Why wouldn't you just call and talk to the lines manager and confirm the price and the bet..? I say that because if they don't want to honor it and say it was an obvious error they would anyway so why not bet it with confidence to at least know how it would be graded..? Just a question...
