Super Bowl 44 was generally pretty good for most books. With the public favoring the Colts and the Over, the action at most books likely had them wanting a Saints' cover and an Under, which they got.

But for a few high-volume books taking professional action, it was a different story. After hitting the Colts initially on opening, the sharp action strongly favored the Saints mid-week through game day, and there was reportedly a lot of non-sharp "whale" action looking to get down on the Saints as well. BookMaker accepted a number of big bets well above their guaranteed limit, all on the Saints, and admitted they lost on the game when the Saints got the double-digit win.

Honestly, I personally think that the Saints were not given the chance from the get go. They obviously had a good enough offense to keep up with the Colts and their pass defense wasn't given enough credit. I mean they did go 13-3 during the regular season, then get disrespected on National TV that their defense can't stop the Colts offense; right after they forced 6 turnovers against the Vikings. Yes, the Vikings have Adrian Peterson, the almighty case of fumblitis, and a 40 year old quarterback who is gonna snap like a twig, but come on America. Give credit where credit is due. The Saints obviously had a chance in that game. The game should have honestly in my opinion been a pick em. With Dwight Freeney not 100%, the Saints should have been giving points to the Colts if anything.
