I need a "smartphone." Suggestions?
This Iphone looks pretty slick with the Safari browser but it is on the cell phone version of dialup internet vs. the 3G cellphone broadband stuff.
Does anyone have a PDA-type cell they love?
Anyone have one with a browser that won't let them see SBR or forums?

Uses Blazer for the brower. Works fine with SBR forums. Just doesnt support the flash SBRlines uses.

Soon as I figure out how to use my new Nokia N73 I'll let you know. Overall, I think Nokia has the best phones hands down.

I've had Nokia's until recently, but the Symbian OS hasn't proved popular with developers as far as "smartphone" apps go.

Johnny you go through more phones than anyone I know.
You must have high speed network for these smartphones or they are a waste, there are so many it is just a matter of preference and what type of operating system you have and finally what exactly you are using it for.
E-mail hands down are blackberries

Does SBRlines work on that Nokia John?
I have been using Treo since the 600. I like them the best so far, with the Palm OS. Mobile Windows had been to laggy on my PPC-6700. Maybe that has changed, but just haven't risked it.

I like that phone... Good browser, 3G network and high pixels. I could leave the camera at home when going to the kids games.
But, the deal breaker is no qwerty keyboard(?). I want to be able to use the forum and things like mapquest on the road. I'm all thumbs with those general phone keypads.

Macbook or laptops are totally different solutions, I carry both a Smartphone and a Laptop on long trips, and just take the smartphone for overnights etc

Onlooker,
Does your phone (Windows Mobile 5.0) see the SBRlines grid (not the website but the actual lines) ?
By looking at the emulators, the forum looks ok but win mobile can't see AJAX or flash.
The Safari emulators (Nokia N73, other Nseries, and the Iphone) seem to pick up everything nicely.

No Bill, the Treo don't show the lines grid. But forum looks perfect.
Where did you test those Emulators with SBRlines?

Santo,
Do you know if it is Opera mini or a full version? We tested on Opera mini and it was a no-go. Thanks.

I'm trying the line service out with my Tmobile SDA and Opera Mobile. I'm able to get everything on the lines page except the lines, but here's the weird thing. If there's an updated line, that line will show and stay there.
Why am I not getting the lines from the beginning??
Any suggestions?

Well since it was bumped I'll go ahead and ask, and I don't think this would really be answered sufficiently if I googled it..
What phone will allow me to log into a book and place a wager? Also would I be able to post on SBR from it? Decent size screen preferred.

A poster mentioned the other day they were posting on SBR from an IPhone. Anybody know if the IPhone is on a faster network now. Also, when are the 2nd gens coming out?

AT&T CEO outs 3G iPhone: "You'll have it next year"
Posted Nov 29th 2007 4:04AM by Thomas Ricker
Filed under: Cellphones
Of course the 3G iPhone is coming, that's clearly in the evolution plan. As Jobs said himself, it's only a matter of time until improved batteries allow for it. Still, when AT&T's CEO Randall Stephenson says, "You'll have it next year," well, our ears tend to perk up. The remark was made at a meeting of the Churchill Club in Santa Clara. He didn't say how much it could cost admitting that Jobs and Apple "will dictate what the price of the phone is." However, it wouldn't surprise us if fits back into the $599 slot vacated by the 8GB iPhone while toting a full 16GB of flash like the iPod touch.
