They said no Moneylines were allowed in this contest, yet there was an alternate side line offered yesterday for the at Saints -7.5 +600?

Some people hit it and there is someone who is 1-1 and is up 15 units, the leader being 18-12 and up 28 units.

You need to make 30 picks to do in this contest. It's going to be impossible to win unless you open the contest to ML's or just void that bet altogether. Seems pretty stupid to not allow ML's but to allow an alternate line like that. Maybe you can just post alternate lines there for every game till the end of the contest.

So if you are gonna let it stand and not let people bet ML's or alternate lines, I would suggest taking down the banner down for it. You pretty much need to go 28-2 and hit your best bet to win this.

If SBR lets this stand they deserve a downgrade themselves. I've been a bit disappointed in SBR lately. They allow shady moves in contests like these, they allow players to wager with each other for money (although the other cheek is turned), and they prop up books like BetPhoenix where there are complaints day after day about them.

if it was a normal everyday line that was available on other games posters would have no beef but it was not a normal line to be offered were never offered before.

We had to remove BetPhoenix's feed off SBR Odds due to an XML error on their side. SBR Picks receives the data from Odds and that is the line which is displayed on contests using that sportsbook. It's true no moneylines were offered in this contest, but an alt side is still a side, and it was available for everybody to bet. In fact, when the alt line was available, it was the only side on the Saints.

I do agree that those who missed out on taking a shot at a value bet have reason to feel upset, not expecting to see a line like that available. However, the bet on the alt sides were booked and must stand. They weren't caught before the game started and we can't punish a poster that saw a line and bet it thinking it was a standard Super Bowl alt side (which it was).

We won't be using that feed again anytime soon, I can tell you that.

that is an answer i can live with and is basically true whats done is done.

i will say though when i made my wager on colts -5 i never saw an ALT line

it doesn't matter to me anyways as i would have still taken colts -5

i just felt bad for the guys that capped their asses off posting good win %'s to lose to a silly line.

The only justification they can make for this "All Sports Shootout" to make the contest just a bit fair would be to allow NBA and NCAAB ML's since the NFL is over for the season.

Guys, I don't know what the big deal is. People were really going out on a limb who took saints -7.5. Anyone who took colts +7.5 thought they had a sure fire point but instead lost 9! It's a gamble. Here's the problem I have with everyone bitchin!
1. You act like you had to play the damn superbowl! You only have to make 30 picks not play every game on TV!
2. You had the option to play the regular line, this is a win one lose whatever point contest. You could have played colts -4.5 1t -110 and lost 1.1 points. You didn't have to play the juiced lines, so don't bitch because people "GAMBLED" & did it & won & you lost!

That line was up for several days and every one and his mother could have played it

Many people who did not play it- did that because they thought the bet had no prayer

But it's just silly to have a line that is 6 to 1 in a contest like this, you might as well have money lines.

And since I assume it stands, the contest is really only for people who hit it, so It would make sense to not even advertise for it since you have no chance of winning.

This was not a bad line though, it was just a bad line for the contest.

I wonder if WagerChief is even aware of this?

I mean I've seen some pretty stupid things regarding some of these SBR contests. For instance there were contests sponsored by books like BetPhoenix but you were picking the lines from Pinnacle.

Now problem Lou, thanks for the sincere and informative response. We know you try your best to provide the best. I was just confused at first as to what happened to proved that many units to some with losing w-l records when ML's weren't in the contest (except NHL). Keep up the good work Lou.
