Hi all, new to the forum and am having an issue with Bookmaker. I placed a bet on the Indians/A's game and took the Indians action -135. After I placed the bet there was a pitching change and the line moved to -185. I put a large amount of money down (2k) on the game and had the line at -135 but they changed it to -185 on my ticket. I talked to the manager and he said that if there is a pitching change you would get the updated line but I am skeptical. Are they right? Should I get payed for -135 instead of -185?

Yes. That's completely standard with baseball "Action" betting.

If you want to avoid getting repriced in the event of a pitching change you need to select the appropriate listed pitchers from the Bookmaker dropdown menu.

Note that if you do this and there's a pitching change your bet will be automatically graded No Action.

Baseball wagers will be accepted in the following manner:

Action:

Team against team, regardless of the starting pitcher. "Action" bets will be computed by the opening price with the new pitcher. A pitcher is deemed a starting pitcher after throwing one pitch.

One specified pitcher:

A wager on or against a specified pitcher, regardless of the starting pitcher.

Both specified pitchers (listed):

If starting pitchers are not exactly as listed on betting display board and/or your ticket, your bet will be deemed "no action".

Note: If there is a pitching change prior to the game, money odds may be adjusted. If one scheduled pitcher starts against any unscheduled pitcher, "action" wagers will be computed by the opening price with the new pitcher. A pitcher is deemed a starting pitcher after throwing one pitch.

in baseball, if there is a pitching change you will never get the same odds you got on the original pitcher no matter if you select action or listed. "Listed" simply states that the wager will be canceled if the listed pitchers do not start. Of course, on the flip side, you now know what "action" means!

There is an interesting exception to these standard rules at Unibet: There are no named pitchers, and the bet still stands at the agreed odds even if there is a pitcher change. (This has never happened to me, but this is how I interpret their rules. Feel free to verify)

The interesting question is: Is this better, worse or equivalent to the standard named pitchers choice?

Well if you are arbing and assume no other pitcher change before the 1st throw it is a goldmine as the prices are completely out of line,Gamebookers and Coral also have this rule.Even if you are betting straight up it often gives much better odds so I don't know why they do it.
