Default SBR Causes 3 Guys To Seek Help?

3 posters quit this week due to gambling issues that is a high percentage on one board.

Does all the gambling data/info here tearing down posters? I have said it does in the past and I guess I am right again.

Where or when does SBR feel an obligation to assist players financially and emotionally when they hit rock bottom?

    Is there a plan?

    Thanks

I say no. If you can't bet responsibly thatn don't bet.

Some people arent strong enough emotionaly to deal with the daily win/loss high/lows. Plus to just sit in front of a computer tv all day watching scores in itself seems self destructive. I know i couldnt do it.

jj, i remember a post from you within the past year where you said you were quitting and you were heading to a GA meeting. Just like you are back, picoman and buddybear and whoever else quit this week will all be back. Let's just hope that when they come back they will have their addiction in check and can gamble responsively.

The way I look at it, they will be back. Trying to quit gambling is like trying to quit smoking. You can't do it cold turkey. But unlike smoking, you can benefit by winning.

Bass, in quitting smoking, gambling, or any other vice, "cold turkey" is often the best way to go.

    Everyone is different

posters that quit and come back should have to pay to post as well as read. 60% of proceeds would be sent to GA and various 'facilities' across NJ

since when can you shoot lithium? thought it was oral only

If SBR was not around they would still be in the same boat. These type of sites do not cause guys to over bet. If anything it gives them a source to ask others questions.

We are taking steps not to encourage guys to bet due to what is found on the SBR websites. For example the big football contest, Beat The Prick, will no longer require a player account of any kind. Also, there are no "call to action" ads. These type of ads have a hook and scream Bet Now! We only allow sportsbook logos.

I would have about an extra 45,000 if I did not post here, the site gets me pumped to gamble and I cannot stop. It is not my fault.

LOL, it's cost me $27,782,256.04, just off the top of my head. Now i'm off to the dry-cleaners to collect my pants.

Will return later to discuss a strategy.

I think we should applaud guys who recognize they have a problem. Or at least encourage them. Gambling can be a dangerous form of entertainment. There is no shame stepping up and saying I need to make some changes. Thats pretty much the message.

No problem with people, jj or anyone else for that matter, admitting they have a problem. However i would argue that it is indeed his fault and not someone elses.

I know it's not my fault or indeed SBR's, Red sux, BatemanPatrick or RickySteves to mention a few involved in the thread. You bet, you lose, your fault.

this is what happened to me. i found the forum when i was having payout problems with sb.com...not a small number. i did a google search on sportsbook scam, and the thread, "sportsbook payout delay" was the first one on the list. i became a regular poster ever since.

i share the same feeling with jj. ever since i joined this forum, i think i lost about 60-70k. not sure what caused it, i can't really blame the forum, they didn't tell me to bet. after thinking about it, jj raised a good point. i was pretty pumped up betting on all the games and posting about them. in hindsight, it is not a wise thing to do. i was doing much better when i was a casual bettor where i only check the score 2-3 times a day. and i think watching the games you bet on is not really a good thing. i was doing much better when i don't have mlb.tv and i only can watch gamecast on epsn. by not watching the games, i was only focus on the stats rather than the people. after a really bad week, i think it was a good time to take a break...i rmemeber from last year the games right before the all star games was really unpredictable. So now i am just traveling and waiting til the all star game. this forum is pretty nice though, at least i know which sportsbook are good and which sportsbook are scams.
