You're exactly right!
When I was younger I was told by a manager to come by & talk to him. On that day I was there at 8:00 on the dot at opening time. He kept *ukin around & wouldn't really take time to talk to me. After about an hour I said "I can see you're really busy this morning sir, maybe you would like me to come back tomorrow, or whatever day?" He said yeah. On that day I came back, stood around for over an hour again, same thing. This went on 3 times until he finally on the third time made me wait over an hour then brought be in his office & we talked & he hired me.
He & I became pretty close, he ended up moving close to me & we had a great working relationship. He told me when he first met me he thought I was too cocky & wasn't sure how responsible I would be. He purposely made me wait he said to see if I would be walked all over by waiting all day before saying something, which I didn't. And he said I came back every time on time just to be abused again and that showed I was ambitious & reliable. That's why he hired me because I didn't give up, I didn't call the next day to see if he was busy, I was there at the door when he got there.
Kids these days don't get that. They want to email a resume & twitter me if I'm hired!
