If your chance of winning was 80%?
I would bet everything I had to my name or get a huge loan to get down on the game.

Depends on how much I would trust my source. I don't want to know about 80%. A fix is a fix is 100%.
If I'd trust my source 100% I'd bet 100%.

Plug it into Kelly, if you're 80% sure and bet 1/6 kelly at evens, you know what to do.

There have been many fixed sport events in the past. Most I know involved soccer matches and some boxing matches.
Strangely enough, i didn't place a bet on any of them.
I remember one match that i'm sure was 100% fixed.
Denmark/Sweden at the Euro 2004 when the score ended 2-2.
The two Scandinavian sides, Sweden and Denmark knew in advance that 2-2 was scoreline that guaranteed both of them progress into the quaterfinals.
Surprise, surprise, the score ended 2-2. Hmm...
The price for the 2-2 draw was around 5.50.

Hahahaha. This game was a fix.
And there is no need to watch the whole game, just the "blunder" by the swedish keeper minutes before the end.

Soccer is the most rigged sport out there, an 80% shot (hypothetical) you have to unload heavy.

I never bet on fixed matches.
A) Often not every player has been involved in the fix, so still not 100% sure.
B) I make enough money betting on honest matches and do not wish my accounts limited for having bet on a fixed match.
Then there are these 100% honest matches, totally no fix whatsoever, just 11 reserve players being fielded of which some of the books are not aware yet, so they all keep up the same prices, on BetFair proper gamblers like jjgold start betting on the other team, all the Santos and kiwis start helping those guys out as traders and scalpers getting them on in the Asian market and as a bonus BetFair reports these honest gamblers as frauds, because they were betting unusually big
Keep me out of all this!

Sure they made it look like it wasn't a fixed game because if there would have been any evidence that the game was planned to end 2-2, there would have in deep troubles. Althought they haven't found any proofs that the game was planned to end 2-2, you can't argue the fact that both scandinaves teams, Denmark and Sweden, knew before the game that with a 2-2 result, they were guaranteed a place into the quaterfinals, even if Italy would have scored 3goals against Bulgaria. So for that reason, it makes perfect sense to fix the game.
"And normally the Italians are the ones fixing games."
True.

@ Adriano
It was the danish keeper who made a huge blunder so the score ended 2-2. I agree that this could seem suspicious ( especially if you are Italian, considering the many strange results that happens every year in italian soccer). But before this happened the danish team had many chances to score the 3-1 goal. Shots that were miraculously saved. Denmark had incentive to win the game, as they would go through as group winners instead of runners up. But when the score is 2-2 with 5 minutes to go, then naturally no team wanted to risk anything.
When people say that this game was fixed, it says more about the moral of the people uttering the statement than about this game.

My mistake about the keeper and who levelled the score at end. Game was 3 years ago, and i didn't research before posting.
Now, i'm not Italian at all, but my country played in that EC group and btw was on the receiving end of some of the most terrible refereeing (fixed is a proper word here again) i've ever seen.
About the game, you think scoring 2 goals in a few minutes is any problem at all in a fixed game?

I am sure scoring two goals in a fixed game is very easy. But if you are convinced that this is a fixed game solely because the danish keeper made a mistake ( a mistake which you see happen in many games ), then you are just looking for a conspiracy.

all sports are fixed. Anytime money is involve the fix is in.
I just learn to bet on the right side of the fixed games.
when I lose a game, I just tell myself to get in on the right side of the fixed game next time.
And if I win, I'll say to myself that was a good fixed game to win.

I remember when HSV lost against Paderborn in DFB Pokal. Now that had some really really strange decisions and in the end it was proven that the referee fixed the game. However, not many people knew about it so that the odds stayed quite normal (HSV was a big favourite all the time if I remember correctly)

there are fixed games everywhere, but if too many people know about it then I am sure I will avoid it at any cost because if I know about it then I am also sure that bookies also know about it.
