Just curious as to who posts the most respected opening numbers? Is it CRIS, Olympic, Pinnacle, or Stardust? I know the CRIS slogan is "where the line originates", but are they really the line that most others look to? I, personally, follow CRIS and Stardust, but Olympic has been posting a lot of numbers early. Any thoughts on this?

I feel it's the stardust. i know alot of offshore guys will probly beg to differ here though.

Im another that feel its Stardust, but Im not the biggest offshore person around. Should be interesting to see others thoughts on this one.

Is there really such a thing as the 'Most respected openning line'?

The first book might open with a given line (which is simply an educated guess) and the rest of books may or may NOT follow it and after that the line simply moves according to the betting...

For example, even though stardust may open with +150 on a given team, and some time after pinnacle opens the same team with +170, the line will quickly move to around +160 on both stardust and pinnacle. So would it really mean that the +150 is a more accurate/more respected estimation? Or is it really +170?

I think bookies simply place an initial educated guess and then let the bettors decide on what the value really is. There is no significance to the initialy number since it changes so fast once a significant bet is placed on it...

cris MLB and NHL lines are garbage

I could be wrong and go ahead and shoot me if I am but I dont think Pinny originates many lines. Watching the development of SBRLines I noticed its always Oly and CRIS that get the ball rolling.

Cris and Oly can afford to be less sharp than pinny with their -10 across the board, I respect pinny more. Cris and Oly get way to much business and attention with their BS lines. And until players quit playing the -110 they will keep offering them!
