Anyone in CR travel on the new highway yet?

Heard that the new highway is done out to the beaches. Anyone ride on it yet? Heard it should be a lot faster now.

New Way:
The brand new highway from San José to the central Pacific port of Caldera promises to bring a new era to Costa Rica. The winding road that led to inauguration ceremonies this week took more than 30 years and caused controversy and consternation. With the new road, travel time from the capital city to the central Pacific beaches is cut in half.

Its done?! I thought that thing was a myth. It was like a fairy tale before you made the turnoff and started winding through all this bullshit to get to the beach...

It just opened up last week, GJMike. It sounded like it was never going to finish ever, but I guess it's all opened up now. Good time of year for it also with the weather perfect there right now.

I heard it takes half the time it use to and is an easier drive.

It's just an hour now to Los suenos. But I heRd there is heavy traffic and delays. You know all of CR is out there "trying out the new road". It's lime goi g to a concert. Give it a week or two for traffic to lighten up.

Los Suenos is a nice property out there, John. Nice beaches and golf by day. And some more "holes" to "play through" on at night.

Traffic is always shitty in CR. Locals have set days they are allowed to drive anyways right? I have been to many places where the cabby's have scared me but none were as bad as in CR. I should be down there in April. Hopefully can meet up with some people.
