Default The Grammys = A scourge upon the earth

If you're interested in music, and not watered-down, mass-produced, corporate non-music, look into the Shortlist Prize or the Mercury Prize.

Also, visit Metacritic (great Web site) for the collected best-of-2009 lists from about 40 respected music publications:

    Thank you for reading.

Grammy's are the one award show I can find somewhat entertaining.

That's cool -- as something novel or entertaining to look at for a couple of hours, it's fine... as long as you don't take any of it remotely seriously.

As far as representing actual "acheivement in music," to use their words, it pretty much represents the exact opposite.

Not a fan of these award shows. Judging by the ratings the last few years, I am not alone. I think the reason is someone always makes a fool out of themselves or spouts out some kind of political statement.

"popular" music has been in a constant state of increasing decline ever since MTV went on the air in the 80s.

My girl is watching this, so I am being subjected to it. F-ing terrible. Elton John & Lady Gaga was terrible. Beyonce singing Alanis Morrisette was stupid. Taylor Swift & Stevie Nicks hitting bad notes, I think you get the drift.

there's a virtually infinite amount of wonderful music from the 1920's-1980's so I never even follow anything new.
