Default horse racing line movment - bookmaker ?

Hi,

I try to understand the betfair odds line movment 10 minutes before the off, on the uk horse racing.

Is it possible to know on wich bookmaker betfair follow their line ? If not, which are the specilized bookmakers on horse uk racing who give the odds and the fluctuations before the off (speed movment and hi odds) ?

Could you do help me for this ?

regards

Betfair don't follow any bookmakers prices. Their market is their own. It would roughly follow the on-course market insofar as the favourite on course will most likely be the favourite with Betfair, the second and third favourite on course will be mirrored with Betfair etc etc. However Betfair will have better prices. Longshots will be huge prices on Betfair, sometimes twice or three times the price.

As for following market movements i believe Ladbrokes and Victor Chandler have this option, but it will only reflect the on-course movements. Betfair also have this option, by clicking on the horses name, a graph displaying all movements will appear.

Betfair is an exchange so any odds are offered by punters.Bookmakers use Betfair as a guide to price up races, not the other way round.

So, betfair follow the bookmakers prices for any sports, but for the horse racing, it's the bookmakers who follow betfair ??? Its hard to believe that.

Thanks all for your answer...i will look VC and Ladbrokes.

Well not quite. It is the people using Betfair that use the bookmaker (on-course) market as a guide. As a result you get a market that resembles the bookmaker market, only with better prices.

You could also try the racingpost and the timeform form guides (free on BF, just follow the link) for pre-post markets.
