Wow I didn't see that. I'm about to read through the whole thread.

You gotta understand though Richkas, 45k and he is NOT ALLOWED to do anything else with his time. JUST SBR. 45k is not enough money at all to live. At least here in NYC it isn't but I wouldn't settle for making 45k a year. Thats $865 a week and after renting a semi-decent place you are left with a couple hundred dollars. Cell phone bill, food, beer, clothes, cable bill/internet, insurance, gas if he has a car, etc etc etc make it where life is just a big break even (possible living in the red). Oh and I forgot one expense he would also have that dips into the 45k per year.... GAMBLING! Who knows what even controlled gambling can add up to in a year's time.

True. I guess I am used to thinking like a New Yorker. A tiny 1 bedroom apartment anywhere in my neighborhood is $2750+ a month. 2 bedrooms are $4,500 a month and rising.

Still though, 45k a year is NOT a lot of money. It's ok I guess since it's an easy gig and he loves to post and we all do it for free here day in and day out.... but still not worth settling for in life (in my opinion).

No human being can live on 45k a year. After taxes is about 30K. That is $2500 a month.

Rent: $600
Utilities: $300
Cell: $100
Car Payment: $300
Car Insurance: $100
Med Insurance: $300
Gas: $200
Food: $500
Cigarettes: $150
Alcohol: $100

This is more than $2500 a month.

Rent for 600???? Where

The fukking projects cost that much with the retards and crackheads that get welfare in NY. $600 and you won't get shot and or raped upon leaving the house??

But overall I agree with your statement that 45k is NOT A LOT of money for someone to rely on in life.

Cartons of ciggs cost anywhere from $80-$110 around here. And the price just keeps on rising.

Hey if you guys got gigs paying more than 45k good for you.
This is a totally acceptable blue collar life though.
Pavs your total came out to 2650. So his 45k a year basically pays for his life and he needs to be profitable at 1 other thing in life.
Give me a lil 9 to 5 making 45k and I'll double that on the side. I'll live modest with a smile on my face.

You can get a one bedroom apartment where the Mexicans live here in Atlanta for $600 in a very bad neighborhood. I was being on the low end in my estimate.

You have to be kidding me Soprano. Tell me you would turn down 45k for a job on a sports gambling forum all day. I'm sure it's not a full time job either.

I would't take any job for 45k a year. Just more ambitious then to settle for that. Plus I wouldn't work for anyone anyway. I prefer to be my own boss, not a spoke of a company.

SBR pulls in millions of dollars a year. They spent over 100k easy on the SBR Bash. They can afford to throw a mod 45k a year easily.

Soprano it is about the $$$ being worth what your doing. $45k a year is MORE then enough for me to be on SBR a hefty portion of my day. Hell most of us do it anyway. As long as it doesn't interfere with other money opps (I'm assuming it doesn't) then it is free money.

Hope your old and established or young and loaded with degrees. I'd fight to have some talking head toss me 45 a year to show up for work. Being your own boss is pretty damn hard in this economy. Pretty tough to make $$ in the middle of anything these days

No it doesn't thats the point. If he was getting 45k and had something else going on thats great. But he got FIRED for working on another project of his. So it's 45k but you are a SLAVE to SBR and have no more room for growth in life unless SBR gives you a raise. But by the time that would happen...all living expenses increase as well.

Got to love how people hate Americans because we enjoy life and eat food. Yes, we could live on 20k but we would be miserable. We need 75k a year to live comfortably here because we like to enjoy life and maybe go out and party on a night, or maybe smoke a little weed here and there, or enjoy some good food everyday.

Why settle for 45k when there is more to make out there? Why settle for less? Vegas Dave's parents spent a LOT of money putting him through a good college to come out and make 45k a year before taxes?

If you add up all the living expenses (without even getting fancy) it is mind boggling how little is left over to enjoy.

Don't forget about retirement, how can you raise up for extra money when you can no longer work?

Just going on a simple vacation takes a few grand easy to have a memorable experience. These are all things people should enjoy, you only live once.

Masu, the point is why settle for a gig where you JUST GET BY in life and can't afford anything more than the necessities when you can land something elsewhere and actually enjoy a few extras the World has to offer you? With the education Vegas Dave has and the natural skills he holds, it is unacceptable in my opinion for him to make 45k a year. If he truly truly has a passion for posting and being with us all the time then kudos to him and it's worth it. But I look at things realistically and do not think it is worth even considering.

People are arguing about whether or not people should be spending $ on alcohol or $ on this and that. Everyone is different. Some don't drink, some do. Some smoke, some don't. I easily spend about $200 on cigarettes a month. I spend $0 on weed. I smoke everyday for free. Usually I don't pay for alchohol but some do. I don't pay any bills, but most do. Everyone is different.
