Almost broke 80 today! Any golfers out there?
Whats your best score?
Mine is 80 which I shot today. I had 3 birdies. I only needed to play the last two holes in +1 to break into the frigging 70's!!!! But I double bogeyed 17 and bounced back with a par on the tough 18th hole.
Any players out there??
PS - I was terminally in the 90's until I had an impromptu lesson at the driving range 3 months ago. I changed my grip and the game just opened up.

I haven't played yet, but have been wanting to start going. A few of my friends golf, and one of these days my lazy ass will go with them.

i love the feeling of shooting a solid round- congrats. I was a pretty avid player a few years ago, playing 18-27 holes every day. I had a membership at a little 9 hole course a couple miles from my house. That attributed to a huge improvement in my game, just going as often as possible. I can definitely relate to that feeling- makes you wanna go right back out there.

Yes but most days are very aggervating. Still, its decent exercise. And its a game you can play your whole life. I love basketball but I'm kind of worried about blowing out a knee.

I regularly break 80's, if you include my handicap.

Shot my best round ever earlier this year which was a 75. Mostly tho, my goal is to break 80 which i'll do maybe 1 out of every 6 or 7 rounds. John i can relate to the idea of a golf lesson helping your score, tho mine was thru a golf video (which i never was a believer in but i swear by the one i watched) I was year in year out an 11-12 handicap, and have gotten it down to an 8 over the last year. However i'm still quite capable of throwing up a 90 on the scorecard on any given day!

9 holes every day?? Man thats a dream life!
I dont mind the heat. But when its real slow out there my score suffers. Some guy hit into me because he thought I was playing slow on the 17th. fvcker. Then I had such a long wait to tee off on 18 that he comes driving up to the tee box. So I told him he could play through if he wanted to hit into the foursome ahead of me. More chances to hit some one.
Just wish it wasnt so crowded on the weekend.

91 is my best score.... was putting a 15 footer for an 89, missed the hole by inches and past by 3 feet, ****ed around with my tap in and missed that too.
Been golfing a year this august. Taking lessons on the 27th of Aug. I would be very happy with mid 80's.

 Gotta remember that line.
Absolutely HATE it when guys do that, i've seen guys get hit and it's not pretty.
I don't play on weekends for that exact reason of it being way overcrowded. 4 hour rounds turn into 5.5 hour rounds.

Hey Mike, you want to get a golf game up with Rick during the Rx mini bash? That would be cool. If Marty plays that would be a cool foursome.

Man I hear ya!
Plus I was putting for bogey on 17 and was taking my time knowing I'd have a 5 minute wait at 18. I needed that putt! If i had made it i would have carded a 79. Then to hear a ball hit while Im standing over my putt...grrrr.

My best ever was 70, had a putt from like 20 feet for 69 but missed it. Normally in the mid to high 70s, unless i'm sucking (which is pretty often). Congrats on your great round!

How can your best ever be a 70 and your average is round 77?
Do you realize if you shoot an 82 which is very possible with your average, then you have to come in with a 72 to get to your average of 77, when you shoot an 84 you need to come in with a 70 then, ect, ect..
My point being you need many 70's to have an average of 77.

Anybody can shoot a good round with your keyboard, but can you really play on the course?
Also, some courses are harder than others. So, a 79 at course "A" might be a better score than a 75 at course "B".
What courses did you guys play at ?

My best round of golf ever was a 1-under par 71 at Silver Lakes, one of the toughest courses in the state. It wasn't my low round, I've shot 2 under a couple times at my home course, 3 under once at another course, but those were at second-tier courses. Silver Lakes has huge quick, undulating greens that test even the best golfer (not to mention being over 7,000 yards from the orange tees, which I play), but I was dialed in that day.

Yea, give me a date and I will try to get it comped. I am pretty shitty though, I wont hold up the game or anything, but I will be a good 20 strokes behind you guys...
