Does anyone think it is a good idea to drop out of college and just be a sports bettor? I plan on setting aside enough money to pay for college (by this time my parents would want nothing to do with me) if I need to go back.

    Do it.

We need more guys on welfare.

First off I want to clear up that I was not trying to be a tout about my system. The entire purpose of the post really had nothing to do with the system, I just simply wanted to hear people's opinions on dropping out of college.

I attend the University of Maryland and my GPA is 3.1 and I'm a sophomore.

If anyone would like to discuss the system with me please send me a private message.

    Thanks

If you are pursuing a liberal art degree, I suggest you drop out of college. Go for the hardcore degrees..

I know the reasons why people say stay in college. I'm not an idiot. It has just come to the point where I know I want to be a professional sports bettor and I have the skills and ability to do that. Also I often feel my parents are throwing $30,000 a year down the drain.

Take out some loans then you mooch.
Go down and talk to the guys in the think tank about your system.
Finish school, dont be retarded. Your girl and your fam are never gonna respect your a full-time gambler don't care how much your making or how great your system is.

Either way, post your baseball plays. No sense in asking our opinions if you're not planning on sharing the info. After all this is (primarily) a gambling forum. GL in the future. I'd stay in school and continue to gamble. No reason you can't do both. If one ends up not working out, you have something to fall back on.

Do you think I could have ever accumulated all this shit wasting time in school??? College is for suckers.

Depends on what university he is enrolled at. If he's a non-resident at a university majoring in a degree field that isn't medical, engineering or education based, it might be in his best interest to drop out especially if he has a well paying job already to fall back on. Most colleges aren't worth their sticker price, especially if you are a non-resident.

However I question how truthful he was when he mentioned how his professor worked with him on data mining. You have to pass any research you do through the head of the school's department / dean before going through with it and I highly doubt any respectable university would ever grant their time, money, and resources towards any sports betting related research.

The fact he is are already setting aside time to find theories / systems / etc. tells me his heart isn't set on getting a degree, so he's wasting both the universities time and his money by pursuing one. I'd go for it if I were you, let it blow up in your face after realizing that all systems fail unless you bet into +EV bets and either flat bet or follow Kelly. If anything else works, you're basically hitting on luck.

Go for it pal. If you don't make it, you can always take out a loan, move to an area of the country where you want to live the remainder of your life (So Cal, Arizona, Florida) and there will be schools in that area which will take you assuming you aren't mentally challenged.

I'm not sure their is anything wrong with doing both and having a backup plan. It doesn't hurt to make sure the system works for you, at the same time staying in school. I work part time (1 to 2 days a week) and gamble to supplement my income. I don't have a large bankroll but last year made over 20k. Of course if I had a larger roll my unit sizes would be larger and I'd have made more, however it is nice to have a backup plan. You don't wanna end up one day broke, with no education and no bank roll. I am a student at Arizona State (fully online), and school takes up about 30 hours a week of reading posting and discussions. I have plenty of time to cap games and pick winners, and if you have a "system" I'm not sure you should need too much time capping your games am I correct?? Keep in mind that you don't always have to watch the games you wager on, you can easily do school (read, assignments, etc...) during that time as well. If you are at least half way through your school or close, than you should finish imo....

Just because your a Marylander I will tell you the best thing to do.

Finish school, it sucks I know but if you can tough it out for few more years get your degree and give your system time to prove itself and hopefully build up a nice bankroll and than if you want to go full time with it go for it at least you have lots of options than.

Hey do they still have that pazone pizza joint down there in college park? that place was the best

Yes, a bad idea considering only about 2% of ALL bettors win longterm.
