MLB 2K10 No Hitter Prize.
Quote:
All you have to do is pitch a perfect game in MLB 2K10 for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 and you can be $1 million dollars richer for your efforts.
The biggest hurdle is you have to be the first to pitch that perfect game. The contest begins on March 2 and ends on May 2, 2010, so you have 60 days in which to accomplish this feat. You have to play the computer on MLB Today mode, you can’t cheat, and you have to record the whole game from beginning to end on DVD and mail it off to 2K Sports, where it’ll be inspected by the Guinness of video game records, Twin Galaxies.

If you're really into baseball video games, The Show is so good it's worth buying a PS3 just for that IMO, especially now that the price has come down a little on PS3.

People have done much, much more for a lot less money. One million dollars can get people to do just about anything. You know there are going to be some who shut themselves in and play the game straight through until the deadline or someone else wins.

Doubt it, they probably will not release demo and on top of that, they probably will tweak or change system, on top of that they will definitely have the settings really high for batters and really low for pitchers.

I have to admit I never would have considered trying the game until I saw this. I know it's illogical because I have a ~0% chance of accomplishing the feat but damned if this stunt doesn't make me want to buy the game.

I read another article a couple days ago about it. The prize was set aside in their marketing campaign. Its to show they have fine tuned the pitching even further to make it more realistic I guess.
I know the last 2 games were a dissapointment . Especially the last one where my outfielder would be doing a somersault before picking up the ball. and other strange bloopers

Let's make some basic calculations, assuming there is nothing making the batters more likely to get a hit the longer you no hit them.
You need 27 outs and let's say every batter has a 33% chance of a hit, that would make it about a 1 in a 50 000 feat.

Thats a good calculation, but there are other variables that make it less of a chance. You have to worry about throwing too many pitches or your pitcher might get worn out, or injured. Some guys on the other team have a better or worse chance of getting a hit.
It does make it very hard to accomplish this feat because you will have to learn the game, plus there is always someone out there that is a video game legend and will be able to do this within 2 weeks. There have to be other details we dont know about involving the game

For the life of me I can't understand why anyone could prefer the PS3 controller to the Xbox one.

Recording every game for $1,000,000 is too much work for you?

I'll rent it. The previous 2K releases for MLB were so fukking awful.

It was unreal how bad those games were. The only entertainment value from those games were the reviews that ripped them apart. And videos like that.

I would like to see the small print for this challenge:
Do you have to win the game if you throw a no-hitter? Just never throw strikes until you can get a guy (probably same guy every time) chasing a horrible pitch and missing 3 times, or hitting a soft grounder.
Do players get hurt in the game? or get ejected? if so have all your players get tossed/hurt and forfeit with a "no-hitter".

Previous ones, if your pitcher got too tired, he would most likely be injured and leave the game

For a no hitter to count, the starting pitcher has to throw 9 inninings
