It all depends on if the avs game goes under. You're only as good as your last bet.
But i have a bunch of nice stuff from betting, so yeah.

It is a hobby for me. A slightly profitable, very time consuming hobby. Honest answer...No. But not terrible.

NFL *****
WNBA *****
MLB ***
NBA * (but improving)

Soccer turn out to be a disaster so I quit betting on that sport and I stay away from other sports.

Not sure. In 2008 I made a ton, 2009 not so much, 2010 off to a good start.

I realized though that I know nothing about the NFL, so I stopped betting. That alone adds to me somewhat being a decent gambler.

MLB, NBA, and Pac-10 everything is what I know, so that's what I try and focus on.

one of the best, can't handle my cash though, bet over my head, and wind up buried in the end.

Being a good bettor is not only having a good winning percentage. Do you have good money management skills? Do you have discipline? Being a good bettor has nothing to do with your success in your last bet..

I wager for a living, so I fall into a different catagory. I have to be good, or I go hungry, so to speak. Since I only wager on football, and mostly college football, my window of opportunity is limited to around 4 months a year, even though wagering on anything should be a year long job if you want to consistantly win.

I see a lot of guys here admit that they need work on the money management end of things. I would expand that. Many in here have a good money management system, but do not have the self control to stick to it. Greed comes calling, and wipes out their winnings. My suggestion to those just starting is to acquire a good money management system and stick to it. The best system in the world is worthless if you do not have the self control to stick to it.

I'm better since finding SBR.

Tons of great info in the Handicapper's Think Tank section of SBR. (Especially from guys like Justin7, LT Profits and Pancho Sanza.)

Money management including betting within your means much more important to survive. Being able to pass on that late game and wait for your spot seems to work for me. Being up at the end of the year is my goal... hopefully this year will be as good as the last.
