SBR Odds is by far better than all the other free line services out there right now that is free. The line services like DonBest and GJ offer a little bit more, but there not worth the money opposed to the free services out there IMO.

Hard to believe they raised the price $100 a month.

But I will say these are expensive sites to operate. Without a doubt SBR outspends GnJ on development cost. The distance between us is closing fast as a result.

Let's see where we all stand by football and beyond.

For my money, a web-based solution will never surpass a downloaded / locally deployed application. Too many un-neccesary middlemen when you have to access through a browser

Good point Santo. We will offer an application in due course. Its not a priority in the short term until we are further along with information delivery.

Fair enough. Until such time I don't have a problem paying $350/mo. It makes me many multiples of that, over and above what I would make with SBR Live Lines etc.

do you do arbs or something? what is wrong with the free lines from SBR? i don't see the need to spend 350/mo for some line service.

No I don't do Arbs in the current climate, I used to.

Better information is a key factor for me, Platform is much better also.

You don't see the need, I do. Different products for different customers. Same in any industry.

DB and G-J have many many delayed lines and old injury info

Maybe so, but I would guess it's still more accurate than any of the free services.

Regardless, it does what I need it to, at a cost that is more than justified to me, and that's all that matters.

With all due respect John, you have no idea what we spend on information. And as a result, we have the fastest injuries in the industry.

We have different audiences, and our services fit them nicely. We have many guys who would/could never use SBRLines or any of the free services, just as you have many guys who will never graduate to a real-time professional service.

Well I do know what all the feeds cost Mike. And I know how large our staffs are too. I mean this is a forum and in my opinion we have more costs. Do you dissagree? If so, mighty fine. It doesn't really matter nor would it change my opinion.

Yes we do play to a different audience. I'm a fan of GnJ. I'm very happy to see you guys raise the price to $350 per month.

Honestly, I dont know. I dont know your numbers, only ours. You very well may spend a lot more money than us... one of the things we pride ourselves on is our efficiency enabling us to keep our costs/staff down. Feeds are only the half of it though, we spend money on alternate sources for injury alerts and then there is advertising, etc. One thing I do know is that money spent doesnt necessarily correlate to product value. Look at DB, they spend WAY more than both of us (I think) and all it has done for them is give them losing quarters year after year for the last X amount of years.

Agreed, money spent doesn't always correlate. You guys have been focused whereas we have taken some RnD shots here and there. GnJ is a good product and a good operation.

As for DonBest, still the undisputed champ but they feel the heat. They happily let us advertise there saying we were not a threat but no more.

There are two new pay services in the works. I just hope the market for lines services can firm up and broaden out. Doesnt look like that will happen anytime soon.

Max I am the number 1 authority on this so it is not disputed. I ahve had them all and back tested them all.

There is a minute difference from a $350 service and the FREE SBR Live lines.
