Default Do the Cavs have the heart to get a win?

The Spurs were doing their best to give the league an extended Finals. The refs chipped in a little but they should have done more really.

I have to wonder if they are that over matched, nervous or what?

I don't think they do John. There best shot of winning a game in this series was tonight. Now I have to question the Cavs mental state for game 4, because I think it's gotta be shattered after playing a very winnable game tonight, and coming up short.

They can't shoot that badly again. Of course, I don't think they can stifle Manu like that again either.

I think that shot by Varejao to tie sums up the series. No one but James can create a shot. The Spurs can shut them down at will.

I've followed the Spurs since their ABA days. This is the game they always lose. Terrible free throw shooting right down the list. Clev has to feel pretty bad they couldnt beat them when they played such a poor game.

I actually started pulling for the Cavs down the stretch. I dont like to see anyone get swept. (unless im trying to cash a ticket of course).

The bad news for the Cavs is I think the Spurs will play much better in gm 4.

How the hell did the refs miss calling that foul in the most crucial play of the game? I guess ABC can't handle the low ratings and want to end this series ASAP.

I was surprised the officiating wasn't slanted towards Cleveland, but you can't make that call, IMO. And even if they do, what are the chances Lebron makes three pressure FTs? 10% at best?

Huh? You can't make that call? Are you kidding me? That's what they get paid to do. Why even have refs... Just call your own fouls then like a pick up game.

The call, if it had been correctly made, would have been a TWO SHOT foul as Bowen was trying to give a foul that the Spurs had left to give. Even if LeBron makes both, they're still down by one with very little time remaining.

Cavs +3 in game #4 is like stealing, they win by 12-15 points. In fact I think they win the next two before getting closed out back in SA.

i thought that last shot by ilgauskas i think that bounced and then looked like it went in was good and should have counted
would have made the game a push (for those that had the cleve+1 line of course)

i didnt care myself cause i had sa on the alternate line of +3-1/2 -175

It's called continuation... Not like college, in the NBA, if you don't dribble after the contact has been made and shoot a three, you get three foul shots, not two.

It's not about heart. It's about shooting the ball in the basket. Horrible FG % by the Cavs last night. They had an excellent chance of winning this game last night but they could not shoot the ball. The Spurs shot the ball better and that's why the won.

I also agree the Cavs plus the points are the play in gm 4. But this will be a token play not a back up the truck play for me. They may win by 40 but in all likelyhood if they had some "rise up" in them, I think we would have seen it by now. Their best chance is to catch the Spurs hungover and Tony Parker with sore wrists from Eva's handcuffs.

James played great but again was not agreesive enough or should I say not agressive enough earlier in the game.

Spurs cannot stop him, James plays with very bad players.

No way, Cavs are planning their vacations. Timmy and Manu combine for 17 pts and they cant win at home lol

It was a foul but not in the act of shooting. I think the refs knew if they call that foul the game was over. In their minds they were giving Clev a sporting chance to hit a 3 and send it to OT. Too bad for poor chaps holding Clev +2.5 but thats why they call it gambling.

    John,

I agree that it was a foul.

My response was to LMB stating it would have been a continuation play (and three free throws) instead of an "on the floor before the shot" foul which would have resulted in only two free throws which is what I thought it should have been called.

Clve will be revamped, this is a very bad team outside of James.

    jj,

You have to have players that other teams want in order to do the revamping in this salary cap era.

I'm curious...Who do think the Cavs have, besides James, that the rest of the NBA wants?

Cleveland is done, through, finished, toast, cooked. IF the Spurs were gonna lose one it woulda been the clank-fest last nite. Spurs played poorly, Cavs played worse. Thursday will be a beatin'
