Default How Many Here Make Their Living Off Of Gambling?

I don't. Just want to know if there are any folks here that make a living solely off of sports gambling. No need to get too personal by stating how much you make a year.

Make primary income from gambling and only really work part time as a way of getting out and socialising when not capping games.....Additionally make $ for a few friends and work colleagues...However, emphasize to those that ask that this isnt a way to make $$$, unless ur willing to go through a rollercoaster of emotions which will constantly challenge your resolve....

May I call you Mr. Coochy?

Seriously that was one of the BEST answers to that age old question if seen. Any of us who ever enjoyed just a little bit of success know of what you speak.

As far as full time. I don't know anyone whose made a living from it.

It would be nice though.

Haven't always of course, but have in the past & am at the present time. I was a bookie for quiet a while few years back & would sell cars from time to time. The car lot is a great place to get new clients & it makes you look legit.

You would probably get more responses if you stated a thread asking "Who lost everything they have from gambling?".

i can honestly call myself a square, and never really took gambling too seriously, but with that said i have come to these forums to try to learn from others, and man is there a wealth of information on here.. for those of you who do have success in handicapping how did you get started and can you think of any good handicapping resources off hand?

I disagree for the most part, there is not a wealth of information. There is a wealth of plays & people claiming "LOCKS" but for the most part in the forums people won't give you a hint at how they derived the outcome, just tell you to play it. Trust me, I'm a doctor!!!
The Think tank does have some good stuff in it though.
I bet I could get all of Rochesterians handicapping wizardry if I'd buy him a damn PS3! I'll see if I can find one at a garage sale

Gambling has been my main source of income for the past 15+ years.....................

As mentioned earlier, it is not a career for the faint of heart.

One must also have a sincere passion for it, but that goes for any line of work that one wants to be successful at.

I know, on the financial spectrum, naive not to do such.

Thankfully, and this is a good lesson for young people here, money is way down the totempole on the list of important things in my life.

People don't have gambling problem, they have losing problem

I'm not making a living my gambling beacause I don't like to call myself a gambler. Mostly, I'm doing scalping and trading (God Bless Betfair!).

Sometimes, I'm picking bets as well but when I believe that I have an edge only so I bet very rare. My favourite sport is baseball. It's best for betting in my opinion.

It's not easy to make a living by "only" betting. A day job will help you a lot in the beginning because there will be months that you'll make zero profit (and also bad months that you'll lost 8k in a month) so don't try it before you got a big bankroll. (30k or 50k)

Lesson two is motivation, If you don't keep notes and track of yourself you will never be a winner.
The mind plays tricks and it must be in writing to analyze properly. After six years I still see steady consistent improvement by knowing what needs improvment or concentration.

invega man until you believe that you can you won't. Good handicappers are good and do win yearly.

Learn the motivation rule and it is actually quite easy to supplement your gambling money by doing the extra. Be a winner by simply betting the supplement money and never use your winnings to bet. Best way might be to get envolved on the referral end of things thereby receiving steady kick back by others ventures. This can be done online or through passing out gambling companies brochures locally.
I do have very cheap excellent way of receiving endless kickbacks through the net but is only available by pm to a select few which would be the ones that already posted here in this thread.

Opposite of Fishhead money is my main concern and feel that bankroll management is critical and foremost. My management is simply never deposit and I don't. There is a ton of free money being offered out there into the millions and that is what I go after and then use. This does take hours of research daily but works for me. I am now in the position of huge rewards that are not stopable.

My game is poker and not sport betting but feel the rules are the same. The internet itself, as well as poker and sport/horse betting, are relatively new and still time and ways of making all you want from them. In todays age the internet is the best way to get rich but you must max it out and more. Be creative & motivated. My big thing for this year is opening a poker club/school running 24/7 with goal of 2.5 million yearly topping out at 25 members but including the help of several non-members with their own rewards.

Motivation and money management are of the upmost. Good Players Do Play Good!

You absolutely can make a living off of this. W/out a doubt it takes extreme discipline. You can't let emotions get the best of you. To start you need to treat it like a business not a hobby. That means making a business plan with weekly monthly and yearly goals. The old saying goes " those who fail to plan, plan to fail" is absolutely true. You may say why do I need a business plan? Every now and then you have to refer to something concrete when times get tough or those times when everything is going so well that you want to get greedy and go for the jugular.

Realize that sports investing isn't a 4 hr a day job if you want to be good at it. You have all the research time and game watching. You have to take copious notes so that your eyes don't lie to you on teams. You have to always get the best of lines that are available. Usually that means you either have a syndicate of investors who stake out all the casinos looking for the best line. Or you have to set up a team of runners who report back to you. Doing it online involves manipulating the books through the use of bonuses and matches.

Also you have to plan to live below your means. What this means is that just because you win 50,000 in a good month doesn't mean you can live like you make 50K/month. There are going to be losing months occasionally and that has to be accounted for. One of the biggest reasons I see people go broke isn't their lack of ability to pick winners it is the need to live the flashy lifestyle like they are a rock star. Just b/c they made some good coin a couple months in a row.

I could turn this into a novel the size of war and peace but I will leave it there.
