OT - End of Sopranos is here
Any thoughts on how this epic drama will end?
Can it be as good as the MASH finale?
Or will it dissapoint like so many other great shows have with their last episode?
Personally I hope the ending is controversial as anything. Walnuts running the crew, T's family getting whacked, 1 of T's captains turning on him and ending it all for T.
Any thoughts????
Too bad I will have to record and watch it tomm.

I could get over my depression from the show ending if I could watch somebody off that whiny, miserable excuse for a kid A.J. I wondered if I was the only one cheering when the moron threw himself into the pool. Mudcat, I have to admit if I had to have one character to go this season--I would have taken A.J. over Charlie. To be honest--if something happens to Tony--Ben would be a good choice to run the family.
Or better yet, Janice. Now that is one cold hearted psycho bitch.

I thought that the whole thing with Meadow not being able to park was that the other Sopranos were gonna get whacked and the fact she couldn't parallel park would save her.
I think it's supposed to ambigious whether right before the screen goes black it's Meadow walking in to the store, or that guy coming out of the bathroom guns a blazin'.
I liked the resolution:
a)with AJ.
b)between Tony and Carmela.
c)between Tony and Junior
I didn't like how it ended with:
a) Paulie Walnuts (wtf?)
b) Dr. Melfi
c) Sil.
And why was that FBI agent who has a relationship with Tony so happy? Was it that he wanted Tony to survive as a friend, or so he could still prosecute Tony and not have all his work lost. Did he sleep with that agent to get Tony the info? Did she know that he was telling it to Tony?

Exactly.
Remember the first episode of this season, the one when Tony and Carmela visit Bacala and Janice on their vacation home. In that episode, Bobby asks Tony what goes through your head right before you get killed. Tony says, "It just goes black." This scene was played again in last week's episode when Tony was thinking about Bobby's death.
I believe this is what happened at the end of last night's episode. As the man walks into the bathroom and you hear Meadow walk into the restaurant, you see Tony's face for a split-second, and then the screen goes black. Also notice how during the credits, there was no music. I believe this indicates Tony was killed, most likely by the man walking into the bathroom. David Chase probably ended the show like this, without the viewer physically seeing Tony being murdered, to leave the ending open to interpretation and so each viewer could have their own opinion of what happened.

remember when tony says something along the lines of "it all goes black" when talking about when someone is killed...well...it all went black. to be honest, i dont think david chase knows the ending. he just wanted people to talk about it. also, the fact that he said he may do a movie in a few yrs is PROOF that tony isn't 100% dead...

Last Episode explained:
OK, at first I was really angry. I mean really, really angry. I can't
believe though that no-one has posted by now what happened. The only
thing I saw that was right, was that in the last scene we are seeing
through Tony's eyes. Remember when he was speaking with
Bobby...basically saying that you don't see it happening? The credits at
the end refer to the man at the counter just as "man in diner", not
Nikki Leotardo. So here is what I found out. The guy at the bar is also
credited as Nikki Leotardo. The same actor played him in the first part
of season 6 during a brief sit down concerning the future of Vito. That
wasn't that long ago. Apparently, he is the nephew of Phil. Phil's
brother Nikki Senior was killed in 1976 in a car accident. Absolutely
Genius!!!! David Chase is truly rewarding the true fans who pay
attention to detail. So the point would have been that life continues
and we may never know the end of the Sopranos. But if you pay attention
to the history, you will find that all the answers lie in the characters
in the restaurant. The trucker was the brother of the guy who was
robbed by Christopher in Season 2. Remember the DVD players? The
trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts were in the train store
and the black guys at the end were the ones who tried to kill Tony and
only clipped him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?). Absolutely
incredible!!!! There were three people in the restaurant who had reason
to kill Tony and then it just ends. This was Chase's way of proving that
he will not escape his past. It will not go on forever despite that he
would like it to "don't stop". Not the fans!!! Tony would like it to
keep going but just as we have to say goodbye, so does he. No more Tony
and I guess we are supposed to be happy that Meadow didn't get clipped
as well (she would have been between the shooter and Tony) since she is
the only one worth a crap in that family. Thank you David Chase for
making it so obscure that I feel bad for hating you at first. Absolutely
amazing!!!!"

I don't know abt all of that--and to be honest it wouldn't hurt my feelings for Meadow to get whacked. Every year I hoped something would happen to those whiny kids, BUT, I swore to the room that was watching with me that the grungy guy with the hat pulled down low on his head sitting by himself in the booth was the guy who got into debt gambling with Tony. You know, the guy who they "busted out" his sporting goods store to help repay the debt. He gave his kids SUV to Tony as partial payment. Anybody else think that was the guy?

well it's nice to know you can read all the articles about this on the internet...as everyone else can. the fact of the matter is that you're wrong - and i'll tell you why. why is david chase going to continue the show in a few yrs with a movie??? everything you said makes sense. but why didn't tony notice those people in the restaurant??? i don't think that scene was real, i think it was a dream. how would all those unrelated people be in there at once??? it makes no sense.
