Exclamation my first public service thread....scam alert

i just got a unsolicited call from one of the sales persons at BlackRhino. (it is on the SBR blacklist [rated F] with company and payout problems in the past). The guy was offering me 1000 free betting cash. I asked the person which company is he reprenting, as soon as he told me he is from blackrhino, i just hung up.

what troubles me is that how did he got my phone number? my only non A sportsbook account is at sportsbook.com. could those mofos at SB.com sold them my personal info???

so becareful when someone calls you and offers you free cash (i was going to hang up right then, but i was curious which site is he from, so i kept listening).

I was under the impression that Black Rhino had gone belly up.

I get unsolicited emails from books I've never done business with now and then. I also get a call once in a while from touts wanting to exchange my money for their knowledge (or lack thereof).

Probly from the 'bad old days' when I played at less than reputable books. It appears that every disgruntled book employee who leaves takes a list with them. Privacy? Shrimacy.

kind make you wonder how many books out there has your phone number, address, copies of your ids, bank statement, utility bills etc.

i think it is more scary at poker places because those people can get into your account and "funnel" money to other account by losing on purpose. 10-30 dollars a day per account i doubt any one will notice.

not to be paranoid, but i think it is a good practice to take routine screen shots of your account...but it is only good if you discover the culprit in action...none of your screenshots has any legal weight, and once a dispute appears, it is your word againt the managers.

i think we're going to be expecting some cold calls until the start of the nba finals. this is the last big event til nfl season starts, so shady sportsbooks are trying to get as much as possible.

not sure about the casinos though, never gotten a call from them, but if i don't change my phone number i bet soon i'll get a call or two from them.

I was kidding about this. First Live Casino scammed people about 9-10 years ago. They have been long gone. Nothing is worse than football time.

I knew of the spanish Web Iapuestas that sold ( for a very good amount ) his 20,000 user DATABASE with confidential information of them, to one Sportbook of gibraltar ( rank C ) and other in UK ( rank A ).

Some players who used to post there, were BANNED after denouncing this in the forum.

I read in other european forums, that Iapuestas banned his own users who denounced in Iapuestas 's forum to have received letters of these sportbooks to their own house.

Among other things they said that the only ones that knew such information was IApuestas, many of them didnīt use a Sportbook for being minors of age.
