I noticed many big moneyline favourites lost in the first or second round. I only made pennies with Nadal and Federer.

There is a lot of coverage of the event in the USA. The Tennis Channel shows games live starting 5am et. ESPN2HD shows games in the afternoon with delay. DirecTV has five more channels, 218-222, that show live games, plus a mix channel that shows the Tenis Channel and the other five channels in one screen with sound from the Tenis Channel

I have been taling a poster named Railbird and he has done me well w/ his tennis pics. He is not on this site but if you search in google for "Railbird friday french open" you can see where he posts...just dont want the Mods to think I am trying to stear traffic away from this site...which I am not. But if you play tennis this guy is a must...be forwarned that he might post his early plays at 2am for the french opn and you only have little time to tail....GL

i am 2/4 for tennis. i bet on two chinese chicks (both were little favorite)...both lost. i bet on one czech guy and one spanish guy, both won. i stopped betting because i couldn;t find close to even money lines anymore

the fact that i don't remmeber the names of the players i bet on shows you that how little i care about tennis and how little i bet on them

There is $$ to be made in Tennis..and whats so great is that they have matches almost everyday...You should use 5dimes for your tennis needs they have more lines on 1 match than anyone that I have seen. BetJam is a waste for Tennis...they wont offer lines until the 2nd week or a major Tourny...when most of the Favs could be up is the 1st week...JMO

If you win a few $200 bets at 5 Dimes, the following day you can bet $10 max with tennis

I"m 3 for 3 for tennis, mostly favourites. Just rough putting up 1600 to win 400.

The one thing to watch is what rules every site has for what constitutes a real bet. some sites are 1 point, others are one game, others are one set, others are 2 sets, others don't really say. It can get confusing if you don't pay attention and a player retires with an injury.

I'm on P-H Mathieu as I write and it seems that he's going downhill fast today.

    Can't buy a winner.

I'm taking a small shot with Hewitt +950 tomorrow. Obviously Nadal will be extremely tough to beat, but Hewitt is playing great right now and I think there's a little value here.

Meh. I took Nalbandian, was a good price and he had his chances to make that a 5 setter. Got Baghdatis at +170 over Andreev tomorrow. Should be a good match.

Mostly great players still left on both sides. I still think it will not be a Fed vs Nadal final, one will lose before because lots of strong players still left.

Womens side I will go with Serena.

First of all, taking Canas in this match seems a bit too easy because he is 3-1 in the head-to-head series with Davydenko and has kicked his ass in the past. However, none of those wins against Davydenko have come since Canas took illegal drugs to enhance his on-court performances and none of those Canas wins were against a TOP 50 Davydenko. The times Willy did beat Kolya was when the russian was ranked 63rd, 59th and 100th in the world which pretty much tells you that anyone using the H2H in this match
It's really nice that Canas is 4-0 in the French Open right now and it's nice that the best opponent he beat was ranked #35 in the world but looking back on the three clay court tournaments he played in prior to the French Open, Canas did not look particularly good and he at times looked like he was in and out of lapses losing to Simon, Chela and retiring against Devilder while losing the match. When you bet on BEST OF FIVE SET matches like this one, you need to make sure you bet on players who a) have a brain that can last five sets and b) can fight off break points, breaks and pretty much anything else. As well as Canas has done that in the past, I don't think he's ready to beat a guy like Davydenko.
Other than that the only players to knock him out matches like this have been TOP 20 opponents. Canas is going to be just as good now as he was before he took the drugs or while he as taking the drugs but that doesn't mean his game is where it needs to be to win this match. Davydenko is a relentless attacker who is going to frustrate Canas at times. The Russian also has not interest in being sent home in the quarter-finals for the second straight year of Roland Garros after reaching the Semi-Finals in 2005 and losing to the same guy who beat a drugged up Canas, Mariano Puerta
Davydenko is one of the best players outside of the BIG 2
This is a wager I was going to make no matter what happened to me the last two days since my own personal bracket (one of them anyways) has these two meeting in this very spot and my gut instinct then sent Davydenko through to the next round. So I would be on this play no matter what the odds and I have decided to stick to my guns. Davydenko is ready for this match and I from what I have seen so far, he's gonna pull it off. GO DAVYDENKO!
