money or hop? does it really matter? is there a rule against yelling shit at the person catching a pop up when you're running by them? i don't think a-rod did anything wrong...i think he just said it to psych them out.

picoman, there is a rule - offensive interference...

"Offensive interference is an act by the team at bat which interferes with, obstructs, impedes, hinders or confuses any fielder attempting to make a play. If the umpire declares the batter, batter runner, or a runner out for interference, all other runners shall return to the last base that was in the judgment of the umpire, legally touched at the time of the interference, unless otherwise provided by these rules. In the event the batter runner has not reached first base, all runners shall return to the base last occupied at the time of the pitch."

To me, that's clear as day

Wow, that's a scary rule. Many of these guys never even thought about attending college. Asking them to lace their shoes could be "confusing" to many of them.

Combine this with the ball slap a few years ago, i think this just confirms that A-Rod is the biggest bitch in baseball.

thanks for the info. i guess a player can't yell random stuff when he is running the bases

wondering what made a-rod yelled "hop or money" when was going from second to third

Default a rod is a punk

In Game 6 of the 2004 American League Championship Series against the Red Sox, Rodriguez swatted a ball out of Boston pitcher Bronson Arroyo's glove during a play at first base. Earlier this month, Rodriguez threw a left elbow at Boston's Dustin Pedroia after the second baseman had already relayed a throw during a double play.

How can the interference rule apply to yelling at a person??

If it does then the entire game needs to become mute.

No more "swing batter--batter swing" from the outfield, etc.

And you don't think catchers talk shit to the batters??

Come on, like A-Rod or not, this is stupid and not worth people giving him a hard time about.

I agree. If anyone is gonna get shit, it should be the 3B for not making the play when someone yells at you because he def did not say "I got it" or anything like that.

gotta say Varitek is the biggest bitch in baseball 'cause he kept his catchers shit on when he followed A-Rod up the line in Fenway. Dude was hoping for a fight and KEPT his HELMET on. by definition that is a bitch.
