Default Chris Mortenson "Pete Carroll to Seattle is just about done"

Speculation is that Riley from Oregon State will be USC's target if Pete moves on.

Pete will fail in the NFL
He will be a C- type coach in the NFL

    This just in:

Carrol had an epiphany as he was doing coverage for last night's BCS Game...Apparently he realized how much of a joke that the College Football system is...That Texas would have won had McCoy stayed in the game...But that is only because The Horns and Mac Brown have mastered the art of the 5 week boxing-like prep needed for a bowl game and playing cupcakes all year to get them there. He had enough.

I can't argue with that----but I also think Pete is a little worried about what is going to happen when the NCAA released their Reggie Bush investigation. The basketball program got hammered for OJ Mayo's issues----and Bush's were considerably worse. Add to the fact that Joe McKnight is driving around in a hummer leased to an LA businessman----and it doesn't look good for him.

    Seattle is decent

Carrol is sick of college, way too much pressure now at USC to win

I hope this is just speculation, I don't consider Carrol an upgrade from Mora.

I agree that the program could be getting closer to more NCAA sanctions, but I'd find it real tough to leave SC and go up to Seattle. But they are an okay franchise and have a great fan base, so it's not the worst job in the pro's.

Pete is in a win/win situation. If he succeeds in seattle, good for him. If he doesn't, he goes back to college as the most wanted head coach and gets a new school.

Why would pete leave? He's banging a grad student, lives in Cali, gets the run of the state, and has the best area to recruit to...**** USC doesn't even have to try to recruit 90% of the kids...they just offer...

Ego. Coaches who fail at something always want another shot to help their legacy. He'll never do it, but Rick Pitino would probably love another shot at the NBA just to prove he could succeed.

yeah the talk up here is that carrol will be GM as well. Thats what scares me as a seahawk season ticket holder, not him coaching.

I think you answered your own question. It sounds like the dirt is piling up and he's being escorted to the door, if you know what I mean.

On the bright side, he's coaching in about the easiest NFL division. Plus his team seems to have a distinct home field advantage if he knows how to use it.

There's definitely something fishy going on at USC that we don't know about. Southern Cal = yay. Rainy Seattle = boo

True but wrong in many ways. The 49ers are getting better, the rams will improve big time under spags and the cards are good. The homefield thing is good for sure but i think the seahags are the worst team in the div next year.
